Good job Rami. That Focusrite sounds great - your singing and playing do too!

Wow RAMIdawg, great sounds here!
The new laid back intro is cool and sounds great, really shows off that new pre. Man, I thought the first version of this song sounded great, but I just played them back to back and this new one is noticabally sounding better to me. Still one of my favorite tunes from you :D

Are you doing guitar too with the new pre or just vox? Guitars sound better too

Thanx Snaker...Yeah, I think this version works better. I changed the key, too. The older version is in "A" and I couldn't sing it well. This version's in "C", so I brought it up 3 steps. Allowed (forced) me to belt it out a bit more.
My guitars weren't done through the pre. They might sound better because before I went out and got the pre, I was working on my guitar sound and realised I was doing many things wrong, which I hope I remedied.

Thanx, duder.

Yes sir!! Very cool part at 3:25 or so to the end. Very nice, Rami.

I appreciate that you take your subject matter very seriously and I like your Warhol like sprinklings of rock culture in your lyrics. It's good you have them.

The pre sounds crystal clear, but it's your voice that's making it sound good, not the other way around.

Now what are these other recording techniques we keep hearing about? :)

Steve and I are about to totally swipe your OH mic technique. :p

Super, thanx dude.

I'm not sure what other techniques those are. As far as my overjeads are concerned. You've heard recordings of mine with a simple X/Y pattern. My last few tunes, I've been using a different method. There was a very long thread about it in the "MIXING/"MASTERING" forum:

One mic three stick lengths above the snare pointing straight down at the snare. The other mic over your right shoulder (my left, since I'm a lefty), the exact same distance from the snare, pointing at the snare. It works like a charm. But, I think the only "trick" is that my drums sound the same miced as they do acoustically, pretty much.
Raw con!
