MTC and Midi clock together??

Just received my D824 . . . great machine. I am using as a master and sending Midi (MTC) to FD4 then Midi through to Ensoniq ZR76 workstation keyboard (with sequencer).

Problem is either need to use MTC to sync with FD4 or Midi clock to sync to ZR76. Any way of syncing both, perhaps sending MTC and Midi clock concurrently?

Help would be appreciated.

Not from the D824- with it, you get either one or the other. Sounds like you're stuck with MIDI clock as your sync mechanism.

I use MTC to drive Cubase as a slave to my D1624, so that handles my issues there. I'm really not that much of a MIDI hack, so I can't help much more there. You sure there's no way to get the Ensoniq to listen to MTC?

Thanks for your response. Actually, since I posted I figured it out.
Essentially, the change was to NOT use Midi-through to the ZR76.

In other words, the D824 as the master is set to send MTC. The FD4, the 1st slave is set to receive MTC. Now here's the trick. Rather than midi through to the ZR76, I Midi'd out from the FD4 to the ZR76 and set the FD4 to send Midi clock which the keyboard-sequencer will recognize. The final step was to be sure the tempo map on the FD4 matched the tempo map on the ZR76. So now the FD4 chases the D824. The FD4 then sends its now sync'd clock to the ZR76 and everything lines up. Real cool. The end result is a minimum of 8 tracks at 24 bit resolution (D824), 4 tracks at 16bit resolution (FD-4) and 16 tracks of MIDI sequencing (ZR76) including drum tracks.

Hope this helps anyone else pursuing hybrid sync modes.
