Hey, I have really worked with the MR-8 lately and found Cool Edit Pro is the best for getting the songs right! However I am NOT, By any means a professional, I thought I might share some of my latest recordings. Check them out. I at least hope you enjoy 1 of them!
Well Good Luck to all!

GYaahh! I had to search your site for your songs. They take too long for even for my DSL (server problem or mpga issue?)

I even got a POP UP after leaving your site and it then froze up my internet explorer program!

Put you songs on nowhereradio.com so then I as well as others can listen to them. That is where we usually post our songs.

PS> Welcome to the MR-8 forum:)

Sorry, I should have staed ( Thought I Did) they were on the links page,,, I have never had any issues with people downloading the files and such from me. I will check out the nowhere radio site. Thanks a Lot!

Hi Mark,

I got around to listening to a few of the songs that you put up. No question you know how to play the guitar, and you're quite a decent singer too. I though the instrumental 'WW' is an excellent blues tune.

Now the slight bashing. I thought your songs, and specially the vocals, are too drenched in reverb and echo. Also the stereo separation is bit too much. My opinion is that if you tone down the effects and mix down a bit more towards the middle the songs will come out better. Of course I'm a total amateur, so take my opinions with a grain of salt.

With your ability at guitar playing and vox, you should just let those stand out front where they belong.

Thank You

First let me say, I hope you read my first post,,, I did state, I was new to this thingy here! I appreciate the comments very MUCH!!!
The Echo problem and other effects you speak of, is my inept ability with Cool Edit Pro, I usually record all tracks dry and work on them on my PC. So I know I have to tone 'em down! I really appreciate the help on this and That is what I was looking for, I do have a better song I did not put up, It is called "Nice" I will have it up. Please check it out.
Anything I can ever do for ya, Let me know!
Thanx Again!

Pretty nice recordings, sounds like you got the Elvis thing going on....:)

I liked the guitar work in "PIE", but it needs to come up, was kinda hard to hear your leads... nice recordings though...

I tried to download one last night and got up to 85% and the server went down. Not fun on my dialup.

Echoing someone else, why don't ya put a few of them on NoWhereRadio. 15 Megs Free.

I look forward to hearing your tunes this w.e.. You are on my list.
I too am an avid fan of MR-8 to C.E.P.!!!!!!!!The last tune I posted utilized both exclusively. I don't think it's @ this forum anymore but I think if you want to grab a listen it's still posted under "Bedlam" over in the MP3 clinic . Both are new toys for me & I have a ball experimenting with them especially the editing possibilities with the C.E.P. WELCOME TO OUR LITTLE CLUB!:D
Comcast didn't allow me access previously to your tunes earlier this week but I am sure it will effortless by the w.e.

be back to you,

Hey Mak,

Awesome! I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan and I love your version of Folsom. You can really reach those low notes man! I wanted to do a rendition of "I Still Miss Someome", but I'm not a guitar player and I just can't get that cha-cha-cha sound of the guitar on my piano. I would love to hear your take on that song.

Good work Mak!

Thanx

Actually I have not heard the Song you requested until now. I will do some work on it... I did a newer 8 track version of Folsom Prison last night. I have placed it up. It is named New, So I don't believe you will have any problems.
The sound is MUCH different. I actually don't like it at all, But There are others that do, Maybe you will "who Knows"""
Oh Well Thank You

New is MUCH better than the Old.
I'd take all the dry tracks over to C.E.P. and have a ball experimenting with light reverb, eq. (maybe punch and sparkle preset on tho vocal), and finally dynamic presets.

I love taking pure tracks over to C.E.P. and doing this. (Thank God for UNDO!!!) I usually spend 5 hours a tune with this as I hate reading manuals & learn more thru trial and error.

Some mean pickin & nice vocals for this genre mak!
(cool low E:cool: )

Hey Mark,

You are on your way, man! The new stuff is SO MUCH BETTER SOUNDING than the first things you put up. I know you can play great, you just needed to tweak a few things to make them SOUND great.

I think 'Nice' has the makings of a wonderful tune, you just need to write a bridge for it and there you have it.

I don't think I can contribute much more to your music from this point out. You have caught up with me in terms of music production. Now I'll sit back and listen.
