gitRhero, The overall volume thing I said in my early post may have been my problem. Somehow the wheel on my new wheel-mouse got set to the volume in winamp.

I just listened to it.
It's pretty harsh in the upper freq's - mine suffred from this as well. The snare is pretty loud, but the kick is kinda buried. Not too bad of a mix overall.

Thanx for the coments NL5, very helpfull...

I was a little worried about harshness, maybe a cut around 6-8k or so will help.

Low end, yeah I mixed on H/P so I thought I might have probs there.

I'll try to fix it and upload again in a couple...

Hehe OK thanx, no prob m8...

Thanx for the vocal comment. I was a little unsure of the vocal level for this style of music. Now I know I think, more of a...
buried-sounding-like-it's-screaming-from the-hell's-pit-of-the-music type thing...:)

Here's my attempt...Mixed on headphones unfortunately...

Listen
I'm taking a listen...

the overheads seem to brash...

overall balance... pretty good but the those cymbals... ouch. I'd recommend a low shelf on the overheads at 500hz

just before the end of the song, guitars sound phasy

Getting those overheads under control should move your mix a long ways.

Here is the latest mix....I havn't given it the full test, so my only reference is my monitors and HP's

Any comments are welcomed...

Perdicament, that is the best mix I've heard thusfar. I think the kick could come up a lot. This type of music kinda relies on the kick drum. Go for a snap!

Thanks man.... I know I'm really struggleing with the Kick tone... The first mix I did was too clickey... so this one I took away some of the clickeyness and added more low end to it....

You really think it need to come up alot? I was thinkin maybe a litttle, but there are parts where it is possibly too loud, (in the break down part)...

Maybe, I can raise it and envelope the louder parts ... and add a tad more click...

If ya have a sub..and ya crank it a bit, I think it sits pretty well...but I havn't given this mix the 'real world' test yet... so I'll probably hear stuff that needs to be tweaked when I hear it on other systems.

NL5, that's a pretty good mix. the balance is better from what I recall from before. The Overhead, Snare & Kick relationship sounds good, but your Toms don't do it for me.

Dogman, not bad. the balance seems pretty good, but the snare and kick seem fairly buried. Maybe just a bit dull.

I'm going to have a first listen hopefully tomorrow night . . . keep on mixin'!

Okay, here is what I'm hopin to be close to the final mix.... I still gotta give it a few more lisens on other sources....

I did not get a chance to fix my mess. :(
I hope I can get to it tomorow.

BUMP, and a question.... What is the deal with this mixoff???

Is there a date, do we have judges....?

I tried........just not my style, not that there is anything wrong with it, just puts me on edge listening to it......I suck at being impartial.

Thanx for all the comments fellow mixers, very helpfull.

I found the harsh spot on the guitars I think. Remixed everything. You can hear the seperate guitar parts better now and the bass. Kick is more dominant, and it helps everything sound punchier I think?? Brought the vocals down. Just hope I didn't go to far in the oposite direction...lol

Listen to my mix

Thanx for listening...
