this is kinda a noob question but are there any USB devices that are "line thru" and do not have a preamp?

i"ve bought a GT Brick and a GA Pre-73 that i run through a Tascam US-122.
Im pretty sure im not doing myself a favor by running it through Tascam's Pre and i don't see a line thru.

cheers!

If the signal is already preamp'd you don't need to preamp it again (that's how you make distortion) so the normal thing would be to use the line/guitar inputs on the US-122.

that's what i've doing.

thank god i've got it right :D

cheers!

Normally the 1/4" input overrides the preamps and acts as line input. Sometimes not. If you have line input use it. Unless it's unbalanced and/or a 1/8" stereo jack. Not all devices have line input or let you override the preamps. But the good ones almost always do.
