Meter Hot lead to pin.... Ground to chassis ground?

I'm starting to troubleshoot the 244 and wanted to make sure I'm doing it right. I'm using a test tone and it says to attach the hot meter lead to the pin and measure voltage. I'm just making sure the ground meter lead goes to chassis ground.

No, signal ground. The signal ground may be the chassis, but not always, so you want to locate a point in the signal ground path close to the meter coil.

Probe between pins 11 & 12 of the connector J807.
