B Beck Guest Feb 27, 2006 #2 Rubber will deteriorate with time and/or exposure to solvents that are unsuitable for cleaning rubber. I've seen many a roller and belt in this condition. Tascam still has new rollers for the TSR-8 for around $30.00 last time I checked, part # 5800291500 The Capstan drive belt may be in the same condition Part #5800698201
