...and you probably wouldn't approve of the brass nut, either!

Nah, you couldn't swap the nut back because a little carving was necessary there, too. (if I remember correctly - this was 25+ years ago.)notCardio said:No, but that I could swap back. I can't swap back the routing for the pickup.
What color is it? If it's something I don't like, I can at least console myself with the knowledge that it was ugly anyway.

I wasn't aware of that. My '72 is definitely a big, thick slab 'o wood. You can really feel it after a full night's gig.notCardio said:Cool!
And a Special is thicker than a Jr. Like a regular LP without the carved top, so it's a little thinner than a regular LP, but a lot thicker than a Jr. A Jr. is closer in thickness to a Strat.

Pics here:notCardio said:Yeah, that's what I mean. That's why I want one. And I could get a regular LP clone with dual P90s, but I want a flat top.
Get that pic up here, dude!
The Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway is P90 equipped, and has a flat top. They run $770.00 (Musician's Friend pricing rounded up), though. If ya really want a flat top LP clone with dual P90s, ya might go for an Epi LP Studio, and swap Gibson P94s (or similar 'bucker sized P90) in place of the 'buckers. The Epi LP Studio is roughly 1/2 the price of the Gibson LP FDC, and I'm sure there are 'bucker sized P90s out there cheaper than the Gibson offerings.notCardio said:Yeah, that's what I mean.
