i remember trying the pod pro out, it rocked!!! but then again a lot do at the music stores right. i have heard some recordings of the pod and liked them,,, some guy told me that for some reason the rackmount pod pro had better distortion, he swore, but then a didn't try it myself so there goes that eh......the jcm800 has always rocked but now, only if u have a place where u can record it and not bother the family (if it's for homerecording) it's hard to do. i also had the marshall jmp1 pre-amp,,,i was jamming to queensryche's operation mindcrime tune one day, and didn't know that i was recording (how that happened i dun know) and my tone sounded almost exactly like on that song, geesh and i never even had an audio card, i was plugged into the back of an awe64 soundblaster, the jmp1 can dial in 3 good tones, and all the rest as too close sooo i guess it would be nice to be rich and have both the pod pro and the jmp1 in my rack again. peace

The first one sounds like a mic'd amp, but not in a good way. The second sounds more direct. I'm not too keen on either guitar sound, but I think you did a good job of getting some big sounds overall!

Looks like a lot of viewing but few willing to express an opinion...

Come on you Metal types...even non-Metal types...take the poll even if you don't want to comment

I thought it was an amp. You fooled me, and I use a POD every day!

Although I voted for the POD I have to say I don't know what it is exactly. But it doesn't sound like a miced amp to me. Definitely sounds like some sort of digital modeling.

thanks to all that participated...
