we don't need rest!!
actually about $35 after taxes, shipping etc... for a pair of Sammy Shelor finger picks. I thought people were crazy to spend 30 clams on two metal finger picks...but there was too much rave about them to resist...

boiling down to it, 30 bucks IS way too much for a set of picks, if you really think about it, but they are the BEST picks going and really ARE that much better.

I guess if you drop 2 grand on a banjo, $150 on a case, 30 smackers isn't that much for a set of picks. For sure they will last a lifetime. (of course I am still lusting for the $2000 banjo at this point...still a beginner here with my learners permit and a $500 Deering Goodtime)

And...I've learned... banjo players DON'T loan their picks out. They fit MY fingers and no one else!!!

I bought about a dozen thumbpicks too...to decide. Lotsa choices. I still like my "golden gate" that I whittled on.

SO>>> top that you gear sluts... !! I guess I need a gross of these suckers... lets see.... 144 x $15........ = !!!!!!!

LOL...Don't loose them ..you know how picks are..they like their freedom;)

I read this recently:

Q: How are a banjo player and a blind javelin thrower alike?
A: Both command immediate attention and alarm, and force everyone to move out of range.

heh.

I can never find my favourite fricking pick!!!

I don't think $30 is too much to pay for something like that, it'll last a long time and I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of it. Just think about all the other crap we could spend $30...bargain I say!

$30 is a great deal if you play better and improved tone.

I cast picks like johny appleseed. I just make sure I buy enough to where I cant walk 2 feet in the house without spotting one:D

2 picks.......30 simolians??????????????
I could only afford to let my nails grow a little:)

Me too Heavy. I'm a fingernail banjo picker all the way. In fact I don't use picks for anything at all. I do heavy electric guitar and bass with my nails. When the first one runs out I move on to the next one. Banjo season is the time all of them happen to be long enough.

Maybe I should check out some finger picks.
