im a one man band so i dont need a bunch of inputs so is mbox a good option for me? i have looked at the lexicon omega but the m-box also has joe meek compressors and eq's as well as focusrite pre's plsu protools, so wacha think?

i would say yes, i had one before i got my digi002, and i loved it...

If you want ProTools, don't mind being limited to 48kHz recordings, and don't need more than 2 inputs MBox is definately the way to go. Especially attractive now that they're dropped the price to $350 (or $400 for the factory bundle)

I am an ex-MBOX user!
Switched to 8 i/o.

I bought the MBOX with an intesion to practoce the PT siystem a bit as i was going to work in a stuido that is PT based.

Did nto care much about hte device though!

The PT LE is a joke, once you get used to the TDM. But for a one man setup, maybe!

The Pre's are quite good, Focusrite, if i am not mistaken!
If you use a lto pf puginsm the MBOX is definately a NO NO!
Plus the midi in PT is extreme hard work. Do not reccomend it!

But agian if you will use it on a laptop recording, audio stuff, without the extensive produtcion intesion, GO 4 it!
:D
