Do you think there is much of a difference? I bought the BX8's for like $500 then like 6 months later they dropped to $300  And here come the BX8a's. Do you think they are superior as far as sound goes? I see they got rid of the room knob on the back. On mine there is a volume knob and a Room compesation switch. MINE ARE BETTER! lol... I'll just keep telling myself that.

But seriously. What do ya think? I don't have specs for ya. Just was hopin someone might know whos really into gear and monitors.

:(

Holla back.

FWIW, I think the BX8 original is better than the BX8a and what I've read on the boards here tend to agree with that. Still, many people the BX8 wether it's got an "a" or not.

In my opinion, they asian company that made the BX8 might have charged too much and they switched to another asian company and relabled as BX8a to increase their profits.

Bottom line is this: in your shoes, I wouldn't worry much about that and I would enjoy my BX8 as long as you don't get to hear Mackies, Genelecs or Dynaudios lol...

Oh Mackies monitors aren't good you say? I think their a solid company although I never heard their monitors and don't have much experience with their gear. I was under the impression that they were pretty good though?

Anyway yeah. My sentiments exactly. Thanks for reassuring me. I've always loved my BX8's since I got em. They work extremely well for me. I think I like the new design a little better maybe but whocares. I get great sound from my original BX8's.

What I really meant (sorry if I wasn't clear) was that Mackie and others slay the M-Audio and crush them to pieces easily, but if you are happy with the BX8, all the best for you. Someday maybe you will upgrade and look back saying to yourself "damn those MAudio were good for the price, but not much more "

How much are the Mackies? like $1,000 ?

Yeah I'm good for right now. This does plenty good for me.
