i have got a lexicon mpx 100 and have not much time for checking out all programs and settings. so if somebody of you have done it please tell me which are the best settigs for basic home recording. especially for lead vocals (or for backing vocals too). thanks

Hmmmm...

...you don't have enough time to run a track thru the unit and rotate thru all the presets to hear 'em????

What the hell's up with that?

and you have time to log into this bbs ? the priorities should be first to make music and then to discuss. anyway the best setting depends on you, your taste and the type of music you do. you have a good processor, do it justice, turn the knobs and give it a good listen, you'll be glad you did.

i know what u mean. but have we all to do same mistakes. there are lot of programs that sounds good first but finally it might sound overeffected, poor or something. and when u are recording u often can´t hear what some other people might think about your effecting and so on. that´s why i thought to get the quicker way with these prosessors. i know there are different kind of settings and taste but there are often some programs which are the most popular and professional in every effect unit

to be honest with you, to say to you "use PATCH X" is wrong because every song is different. not all vocals will benefit from a large hall reverb!

i dont really use the MPX100 for anything else but delay cus the 460L has the reverb tasks. but....

here are some good patches for vocals...

PLATE REVERB - variation 8

PLATE - variation 2

PLATE - variation 5 (sometimes...)

CHAMBER - variation 15

for backing vocals, there's a cool chorus patch.im not sure which one though, check it out

bear in mind, these settings wont work for every song. take some time out, play around with the settings. there are some great delays. the inverse delays are cool on dance music.
