My vote goes to Greg's version for being different. All the others are good covers but they are all the same. The same as every other version ever done. There's no individuality between them, as good as they all are, you may as well just listen to Leonard.

Whitestrat's version is really nice because it's an instrumental. Has that something different ;-)

sgia's version is also really nice. I'm a sucker for an acoustic guitar and vocal. Although I think a classical guitar would've sounded better.

That's my £0.02p worth

Well, trying to ignore the argument for a moment...

I was thinking of doing a version of this, I had an idea in mind, then Greg went and did it better. WhiteStrat, love your instrumental version - you've got some serious chopsicles, mate. I have listened to all of the others, but not as recently and don't remember all the details - loved triquee's vocal, though.

So, if I have some time this weeekend, I might try a different tack on this. I haven't got great chops or Greg's punk pedigree, but I can do a northern English accent. I'm thinking maybe with some leccy guitars, hammond organ type sounds and maybe an up-tempo shuffle beat. Then again, I might not get round to it at all - watch this space!

LOL. The shit you miss.

BTW, it'd be Simon Cowells people sueing afaik.
He owns the rights to the xfactor hallelujah recordings, plus cohen's and Buckley's.

I notice he didn't bother with Jovi's!!! lol

I typically only post in 4 or 5 sections of the site. I log in, and go down the line. I pop in a section, look at the thread titles, and see the threads I've posted in by the little arrow on the icon. Then I decide, "do I wanna look in there?" Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

Ah, I see. You should turn on subscriptions and choose to only subscribe to threads you posted in. I turn off e-mail notifications so that I don't get an e-mail every time. But in my Control panel, I see threads that I posted in that have new posts .

I do this the same way. Makes it very easy to follow all the conversations.

Sometimes, as a mod, I'll subscribe to a thread without posting in it, just to keep an eye on it.

I know, sorry. Just wanted to share it, as I will never cover that song :) Heh.

Daniel Gildenlöw is just... ah. I love him!

I used to wonder what people meant by subscribing to threads so at the very back end of last year I started subscribing. I used to do it the other way, just go through the entire forum {well, most of it} but subscribing is actually a really good way of keeping track of whatever had started off as of interest. And because it's in the control panel {I also don't use the e~mail notification. That would drive me more 'bonkers' than Wheelema already thinks I am}, once you click on the thread concerned, you then just click "First unread post" so you don't end up chasing waterfalls in the desert. Once I'm through the subscribed posts, then I go through the forum to pick up new scraps.

Yeah, I may not have posted in the threads I'm subscribed to. Some of them are just interesting topics on which I'm learning something, digging the argument or have no opinion on.

Hey all ! How are your cover versions of Hallelujah going? Keep em comin k? Peace :)

So, I didn't get time for a full arrangement, as I'd hoped. Instead, I recorded this. It's just two tracks - one acoustic guitar and one vocal. I'm no great singer by any means, so I usually hide among multiple instruments and drums.

I did try to record them together, but that wasn't happening to the click! They're both done in one take each and I don't got time to improve it for now, so kindly forgive the few little fluffs and weird noises you hear - I know I sang one note wrong, but I'm not going to bother to autotune it. I didn't know quite what I was going to play on the guitar and this is what came out...
