Ok, I've been piecing together my new set up, and transferring stuff from my old set up.
I took these work in progress pictures, to show where it is heading.
Nothing is cabled up yet, and I have yet to design the new patchbay arrangement.
I will be using clever patchbay routing this time.
Am quite pleased with it so far. The new racks are taller than the old, and they slope backwards, which is good.
Only 3 racks in the pictures, but there is a 4th.
There will be 2 to the left of the console, and 2 to the right.
Sitting at the console, I can reach over to the 2 nearest racks to twiddle knobs.
The left hand rack looks fairly empty, but is for pre-amps. I have a shopping list.
The analogue snakes will arrive at that end, from the acoustic chambers.

The desk under the console has good sturdy steel legs, but is about 8 inches too wide.
I plan to dismantle it, chop off the offending 8", modify the metalwork, and then put it back together, narrower.
Then the rack just to the right of it can hutch up a bit.

The engineered oak shelf looks good, and the monitor arm that came the other day is very sturdy, and
does what I wanted, which is place the lower edge of the monitor close to the top lip of the console.
I did buy a computer (german) for the DAW, but I'm going to get another one for it.
The first computer will be used to control the DAW from inside the acoustic chambers.
Onwards and upwards...

Have you listened to the Tannoys? What’s your opinion of them?

Looks great! Love that SSL and your plan to make the desk fit will make it look like a seamless console desk.
I have been considering getting an arm for my imac so i can bring it closer and down when using (which isn't much for recording, more for internet), then out of the way when I need it to be.

Great gear and love the clean look!

Minimalist...I probably have posted this before....This was filmed in 2019..A 6 Grammy winning studio in an untreated bedroom....I know the tracks were mixed and mastered elsewhere but the tracks were all recorded in this bedroom studio....

Have you listened to the Tannoys? What’s your opinion of them?

Not as full as the Event TR8s, but at 5", they wouldn't be.
The acid test is that my MP11 piano sounds like a piano through the Tannoys, unlike the 8" Samson monitors I bought.
My only complaint is the loud click when you turn them on or off.
You might spot the brackets attached to them, so I can pole-mount them.
