Some great studio setups out there! Gives me ideas for what to do with my studio. This is the current setup of my studio in a little camp in the middle of the woods. Makes for a peaceful spot to record, and it's right on the river, I love it. Thoughts and comments welcome!

Wow! Do you ever record something outside? I recorded my sitar outside once. I got some nice sounds of the birds chirping in the backround :D

That's friggen sweet man! I hate you! Only from envy. lol!

Welcome to the forum Kirk. :)

CrowsofFritz: That's something I've never done before, but it could be something to look into in the future to get a different atmosphere in the recording.

jimmys69: I love being right on the river, it makes for some great inspiration. And the dog loves it out there too! (In case you saw the rubber dog bone in the picture, no that's not for me, it's for my dog hahaha)

Does the rubber bone still squeak? I had a wiener dog sneak in a note during a vocal session once.

Nah I bought one that doesn't squeak to avoid that problem. She likes to sit right beside me while recording though. It's funny how animals can associate certain sounds... because every time I put the cd on that I just finished recording, I'm not sure if it reminds her of that day or not, but she comes over and lies down right beside me, which I think is neat!

My little basement studio. The room with all the "traps" is the live room (in vocal booth mode right now, hah!), works pretty well considering it's backed by the furnace.

LOVE THE LAVA LAMP! All is good!

What is up with saggy guy in the corner? One of those strange dog based trap breeds? lol!

I know jimmy... i held off posting pics until i got one, luckily a buddy found this gem in goodwill! I couldn't imagine the flak i would get if i had NO LAVA LAMP!!

that was an attempt at a frameless superchunk. it's gonna have to work until i get off my lazy ass and get more burlap.

This is the Ctrl room at my place... apparently the file size for the pic of my live room is too big (yet its smaller than this one... hmm)

Figured I should share my own little "studio" with you guys. =P
Been on the site for a little while and still never bothered. This little room also gets handy use as the occasional bedroom, when I'm not busy at the computer. =P

My bass head and other cab are actually down in the living room, with my main bass zipped up in a gig bag. All ready and waiting for gig time. But this is my little bedroom studio, which I hope to get to know a lot more in the near future. Jealous of you all and your amazing studios!

Bargain Basement Recording of Duluth Georgia

Here are some photos from our studio. We are on FaceBook as Bargain Basement Recording of Duluth Georgia. It just a modest little place for local musicians and groups to have a good time and lay down some tracks for demos and such.

somegeezer: I didnt have 1/4 of that gear when I was your age, I wish.. Rock it up!

rickertd: Looks like the kinda place I'd like to hang out in! Big mixers, you do live sound I take it? That's fun, I'm out of that biz for now, hopefully not for long tho. I like the exercise! That and the hanging out in bars watching live bands and not having to complain about the soundguy. :D

Thanks suprstar...that's exactly what we've been striving for. We rarely use all of that Mackie, but its good to have the headroom :D

I'm certainly very lucky to be growing up in a time where things are so cheap and easy to get hold of. But that also means I have a lot more competition to get anywhere with the things I want to do. I'll have to give the room a good tidy and add to my gear either way. ^_^
