Alright. I've got some newer pictures. Woo.

Here's the desk. I've got dual display, KRK RP8s, some Akai 3-way floor speakers, and a pair of speakers from a cheap panasonic stereo. The passive speakers are hooked up to a kenwood reciever.

The desk is messy.. but this is also my computer room. I'm in here a lot, and I'm not a clean person. Heh.

This is my couch on the other end of the room. This couch is ridiculously comfortable. Everyone falls asleep on it. Heh.

Here's a set of drums I've got in the room. The heads are shot.. the cymbals are cracked.. It sounds awesome! Or not. This is just for me to practice with.

This is my "isolation booth". Otherwise known as the hallway outside of my room. Rather than blasting the damn guitar into all of our ears.. I throw it out here. It works.

Here is my wonderful rack of preamps. Or it's a Behringer MX2004A. I'm looking to get rid of this. I just need some more funds to get better pres.

Annnnd.. here's the "mic locker".

That's three AT Pro-35 clip-on mics, two of those MXL 990/991 packs, an AKG D112, a Shure SM57, a Studio Projects B1, an EV 635A, and a Sony ECM-50. I've also got two Shure SM58s sitting at my band's practice place.

I just got the 635A and the ECM-50 a few days ago, so I haven't gotten to test them out. I really excited to. Heh.

I wish I could afford some nicer mics, but I'm 18 and this is all I can really afford right now.

MXL-100x condensers are fairly nice. Actually, they are EXTREMELY nice for their less than $100 price tag. Also, the OSM800 mike is dirt cheap ($60 typically), and is fairly nice, also a condenser. Are these Rode, Sure or AKG Mics? Nope! But they do offer value for the money. I've used the MXL for vocals a few times, and it's fairly warm and well behaved. The OSM800 sounds great with guitar cabinets, kick drums, and acoustic guitars. Vocals, I think it's a little harsher than I'd like, but overall its a great microphone, especially considering how cheap it is. The OSM is good for voice overs - no complaints there.

Sam Ash is blowing out some kind of no-name knock-off condesner for $29.95, which I bought one of just to see how it was, but I ended up returning it. It sounded fairly harsh and tinny for my ears. Probably okay when dual-micing 4x12 cabinets, but I wasn't pleased with the low end at all, even when its practically down your vocalist's throat.

Whats the point of these?
I didn't feel like spending $120.00 on reference moniter stands. These cost a whopping $18.00-$19.00 and about an hours worth of time.

This is the temporary video editing setup I threw together this afternoon.....I'm working on a "hotrod" video with a friend of mine.

Hey now, it's out of the way up there. :D

Once I get some more money together, I'm planning on buying a rackmounted interface along with a racked set of pres, something like the M-Audio Octane.

I'm considering builidng a small rack to fit under that space in my desk. That way it would all be right in front of me. Heh. I also want to buy a snake so I can just put the drummer in the basement or another room. Those drums are REALLY loud in here.

Half the extra junk in there is stuff my dad refused to take out. This room was FILLED with boxes. We moved in here 6 years ago and never cleaned it out. I took a week and cleaned everything up.

I still haven't had a chance to try those mics out. I need to find an adaptor for lavileir(sp?) mic.

My humble setup

It looks sparse, but the power is in the 'puter...

Dude, what are you growing in the corner??? :D

Haha

Believe me, it's not "inspiration"! My wife's starting pumpking and beans for the spring garden and the table beside the desk gets lots of light. I actually thought about that after I posted...LOL!

Figured I might as well post my studio's latest updates here - it's been a while since the last photos!

Your studio is just amazing, Bruce!

Did you hire an interior designer or did you come up with the color scheme & design all by yourself?
