Well, these are the only pictures I have online at this point, so I'll throw these out there. These are all showing the construction of my control room window sills.

I plan on posting a whole slew of pics once my studio is complete and hopefully someone out there will get something out of my experience. It's taken me 6 years to get to this point, and it will probably take another 2 years to finish.

My Setup

Amps

I still need/want alot of stuff, but I've got enough to get by for now. The picture of my amps and stuff is compressed and squeezed somehow, I'll try to fix it later.

Ummm...you're gonna hafta plug that pedal into somethin' :D

I love seeing those grass roots music makin' places. The pics could be misleading but it looks like you've got a tight place to work in but, sometimes when you're working alone that works to your advantage. Having everything at your finger tips is good. The gratuitous peg-head Ibanez and the ever tasty Strats. Hope you're not in earth quake country with that stack of combo's there! I'll bet that's enough to get the neighbor's attention.

Thanks for letting us in to your space :)

Yeah it's nothing fancy, but it serves its purpose. I need to go pick up another wall hanger to hang the Dulcimer from  I've got a list a mile long of some rack stuff I want, Good monitors is number 1 on my list though one day at a time I guess lol As far as the stack of amps goes, I live in Ohio, so unless we get enough snow to tip the house to one side, or a Tornado goes over, they should be ok lol I have habit (not sure if it's good or bad yet" but every time I'm finished playing or whatever, I always hang the cords and stuff up and unplug the power, etc. Call me paranoid heh :)

I was wondering about those wall hangers. They look wall hugging. Do your guitars touch the wall?

I was thinking about checking out the ones they use in the music stores, that angle out and away from the wall.

Thanks....TRUE

The only place that touches, is the base of the headstock of the guitars on the rubber hooks. The body of the guitar is about 3-4 inches from the wall.
Thank you Creamy. I had wondered about those. They appeal to me. Gets my guitar out of the floor stand, which is in a pecarious position, and gives it a bit more protection.

Someone tripped with a drink in their hand and the spatters went on my guitar, which was nestled in s floor stand!!

TRUE :)

Aye... 39 pages of studio pictures, and my head hurts! Er, actually, my eyes hurt. It's like "recording studio" porn. So what's one more post... :)

Here's my current studio room...

...complete with the infamous "wall o' guitars"...

...the studio desk and guitar rig...

...and the (somewhat dated picture of the) studio rack...

I just sold off everything in the rack and have purchased several new preamps/converters and compressors, so as soon as everything is properly mounted I'll snap some pics of the new rack.

Thanks! Although when I really want to show off I use this picture...

Someone once told me if I sold 3 or 4 PRS's I could buy some really nice mics, but really nice mics don't look quite as cool strapped across your shoulder at gigs. :) What can I say... I'm a guitar player first and a wanna-be recording engineer second.

I've figured out why those PRS's are so expensive. It's simple economics...supply and demand. You've taken the supply and there's nothing left for the rest of us!

You're sick and need some help...Did I see you in my guitaraholics meeting last Wednesday night?

I'll have pics of my setup soon...hopefully that is. My "studio"/bedroom is actually a half finished basement with conrete floors, no ceiling, a 9x6 room that i sleep/mix in, and a 10x9 live room. Theres also a nice leaky pipe over my bed, but since my whole room is taken up by recording gear, i have no room to move it. So theres alot of work to get done....and not a whole lot of money to get it done with. But i have hope.
