Hey Applejax. It's a Otari MX 70 16 track on 1 inch tape. I run it at 15 ips. More pics soon.
 
More pics of my home/project studio. The "control room" is in the 3rd bay of my garage with the rest of the house used as live and isolation rooms. A 16x4 snake runs in the attic to the far end of the house for mic and cue feeds. A video (4 way) monitor in the C/R keeps tabs on what happens in the live rooms. It's about 90% complete, just a few more tweeks.

now THAT is a home studio-- not a comptuer in sight. looks like what i would build if i had an extra $20k in the bank.
 
Thanks for replies! I saved a bunch of money by doing all the work myself. I did all the wood work including the room and walls, all the racks, console pedestal, all the wiring, machine work for the audio panels, rack plates, patchbays etc.Converting the garage to the finished room was a big job! The garage door is behind the console and from the outside, it looks just like any house. 2 1/2 years and it's almost done! Now im to dang tired to use it!

I'm hoping to get some play time this weekend. I must admit i do have a computer in the C/R but it's just used to copy the 2 mix to CD. I also have a Mackie SDR24/96 that's wired to the bays but it just sat in the rack for almost a year without turning it on! I was brought up on R to R ( im 52) and just can't get the "old world" feel out of my mind (or studio!). Thanks again for the comments!
 
i jsut like how its nice and bright in there... so thats another person thats jealous of you :p

I'm near Blackwood.

Yes it can get very very warm in there with all the soundproofing.
