Just finally repainted the room I've been working out of, I've got a rug on the way, and a new desk should be here in a month or so. We moved almost two years ago right after the birth of my daughter and as you can imagine I've had a LONG list of other projects (not the least of which this album I've been trying to finish, nearly there!) but I think we're hitting a point of relative stability where I've finally had some time and money to put into getting the new space up to snuff. I'll get some pictures up here once everything is set up.

Most recent iteration of my home studio. Demo'd and rebuilt last summer.

We hate you! :laughings: NOW THAT IS A HOME STUDO! Very nice room you lucky dog!

How do you like the API? Those units are highly touted. They are noted for that big API sound or something close to it. Have you tracked
a whole band through it? Setup looks great.

The Box and 1608 sound amazing IMHO.

Can you ready describe the difference between the API sound and other consoles?

The "Swede" studio up there is incredible, congrats and such a great looking, well kept place.
I'll tell you, I never, ever, begrudge a musical brother, or sister, a really nice first class studio, gear, music, etc.,
because they deserve applause and kudos for their hard work and good fortune to have every piece of gear and good
fortune they have. Always applaud, support, when one of our brothers or sisters does well, we all do a little bit better. And
when you do well, you want people to support you in the right way too, so always be kind and supportive. Everything works better.
As much as I admire Prince for his work ethic, music brilliance, and recorded output, the one misgiving I always had was he was always
a bit arrogant regarding other artists, never understood that.

Elvis was always my example. Just a beautiful spirit, generous, giving, supportive. Not to mention he was a fellow Mississippian and I was born about 45 minutes from his birthplace and knew many members of his family. They were all very poor, but fine people. Even the great, and famously arrogant Muhammad Ali said of Elvis that he was a "generous beautiful guy and one of the finest men I ever met." Wouldn't it be great if people could say
that about you one day? I hope they do.

I salute you on your prolific modesty......"some outboard." That's pristine outboard.

Is that a 4 track cassette there right under the monitor? ES175, Korina V. What's not to like? Skrats galore,
it looks like you had a ton of fun putting this together, and continue having as much fun being in it.

Okay the more I look at this setup the more I like it. Switch the twang for keys, the API for SSL,
and add about 5-7 computers of Mac and Windows variety, networked, and I could most definitely
find emblissment.

I think the "vintagealia" feel to things is what makes is appealing in a subconscious way. It shows a
respect for older things of mechanical, electrical, or musical bent. It just seems like it would have a great
vibe.

Okay....I'll do it, you talked me into it. I'd be happy to drive over and record 3-4 tracks there. What a generous
offer, I accept. Let's just get our calendaristics synchro'd and all is copacetic. Thanks!!

Is that a 'Herchild' I see? It is on my list.
What do you make of it?

I really like it. It's an investment, but when they blew them out for 1/2 price I found an open box one. Still expensive, but with the recent capex tax changes, it made sense.

A lot of the things I have are hardware versions of plug-ins, but a lot of my old gear comes from flea markets, estate sales, and second-hand shops.
