Hey chaps,

Anyone here using Graphtec or similair saddles on a Les Paul, bought Les Paul about a year ago and the original setup it got was a bit dire to say the least, sorted action, neck relief etc. but saddles are bugging me as they look like they were cut with angle grinder.

Toying between Tonepros and just changing saddles and wondering if anyone uses these and if it alters tone of guitar by any noticable amount.Any other recommendations?no luthiers here so have to be something I can cope with myself, cheers:)

Graphtech saddles are fine. I use them a lot on strats, as they help a lot with string breakage from the break angle, but I've never really thought they were important on a tune-o-matic. The Tone-Pros stuff is sure nice, though. I've been known to use their stuff from time to time.

Cheers bud,you are right ,normally I would not consider messing around with tune-o-matic,but cant get original Gibson saddles as most UK dealers dont want anything to do with Gibson after Rosetti carry on,so its a case of tonepros if I dont have to alter inserts or saddles if they dont alter tone,or at least alter by any noticable amount.

I've never noticed any tonal change with the graphtech stuff. Some people say otherwise.

Oh, and the main reason you are probably having trouble finding the Gibson saddles is that about 5 years ago Gibson closed their parts department.
