Hi folks

I need some guidance with this one. I've been reading tons of product reviews lately for hard drive recorders, it appears the best one for the price is the Korg D1600. However I'm totally blind and the d1600 has a touch screen to perform edditing functions.

Are these functions able to be performed in other ways rather than via the screen, i.e. via butons, data wheel etc.

Any thoughts would be very useful.

hey

I own the KORG D12; the version of the D1600 with less inputs..

I have downloaded a picture of the D1600 (full size picture) and now I can CONFIRM with you that the D1600 does have a Cursor as well as touch screen. (the cursor is in the same position as my D12, and also it says "cursor" :) )

good luck with theh D1600! i enjoy my D12!

Considered the new Yamaha?

Hey there, Mr. H-master. Just thought I'd mention that I've been looking for 16-track machines, too, and find the new Yamaha machine worth consideration. It will be available in Sept., and it looks wonderful for the $1000. The biggest drawback is that it records in 16-bit (not 24) although I hear that this difference isn't noticable (or barely) on the final CDs. And no touch screen although it can link to any computer setup.

Good luck.

Did a little shootout with an analog 16-track, Korg D-12 and ADAT XT a couple of years ago, the analog and D-12 sounded great , the XT really sucked!!

Consider the Akai for the 12 tracker they are 500 bucks at shreve music, the Dps16 is 900 bucks at mars.

And both these machines are better than the Korgboards.(I used to use Korg, still have a few of thier keyboards).
