right..been waiting a long time ..finally finished university and have bought myself a audiophile 2496, an edirol pc300 midi controller, an mpc2000xl andd some technics 1210's... my pc is a p4 2ghz with 512 sdram

and... i need help on how to hook this up..should i buy a mixer (mackie 1202) ??

do i need a sound module for the pc300??

what is the best way to get sounds for the pc300..was that the right choice or should i take it back and get another keyboard /synth.

i will probably be using logic or reason ...

any help or advice is welcome..

thanks

While not necessary, it would be beneficial to have a mixer to route all your stuff.

You don't need a sound module. You could use softsynths and VST instruments (SimSynth, Reaktor, FM7, etc...). Though sound modules are nice things to have too.

thanks m8...

so u think dat i should get a mixer...would a 1202..be enough???...if idon't get 1 yet..can i get by without 1........

what exactly does a sound canvas do???

A 1202 would be plenty to start with. You might want to return the controller and get a synth with onboard sounds to start off with. I personally love the Kurzweil K series and they are great for a wide variety of styles. The Roland JV series are very versatile also.
