hiya, Im in need of lots of advices. I have a Squier Bullet Special, that as a double-coil at the tail position and one volume knob. I'm planning on very soon putting about a hundred dollars into as nice a pick-up as I can and dropping it into the tail position.. the only position it has. I need some advice on what type of pick up to buy, and how to do the wiring and everything myself, if I can indeed do that. Most of the music I write is Weezer/offspring rock, mixed with highland/celtic rock and hints of petrucci-ish metal, so what would be a good suggestion for pickups to carry those kinds of sounds? much advice and a how-to or two wolud be helpful and apprecia-ma-rated.
thanx muchfully, dorian

I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but Squier Bullets are the Squiers of Squier. It is NOT worth your money to put a new pickup in that guitar. I would highly reccomend you put that hundred bucks toward a new guitar instead. Even saving up an extra 250 or so and finding a Mexican Fat Strat would do you more justice. That's my 2 pennies.

yea the next guitar im going to buy is 700$. Im just wanting to know how to install pickups into a guitar with one slot and one volume knob.

Pickups come with wiring diagrams when you buy them, but, if you don't have soldering experience, have a professional install your new pick up. Your $100.00 will be wasted if the wiring is done poorly, resulting in burned components and fingers, and a buzzing, noisy pickup. Besides, that $100.00 would be better invested by putting it towards towards your $700.00 goal. Good luck...
