No dude, I think its good. I like it. I mean, its a song from a band that probably no dude should ever cover, but you did it your own way but still kept it recognizable. It's "bad" as in a cheesy song from a cheesy band, but you made it good.heatmiser said:Thanks...uh, I guess...
I guess deep down I thought it was pretty good, but really kind of a novelty thing. I actually spent quite a lot of time trying to get it to sound tight. Maybe this is in the "so bad it's good" kind of category...like an old godzilla movie?
Anyway...I'm definitely suffering from poster's remorse. My advice to others: Don't post in the clinic at quarter of 5 in the morning after you've had a few too many.

Yeah...true. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm getting all sensitive and covering '80's girl bands...? And yet, I am all dude.a band that probably no dude should ever cover

The lead vocals could be a bit louder, and the whole thing could be a little bit "tighter", its not quite grooving at this point.

Damn...busted!it would work better if the guitar was tuned better, sorry.
I think the electric is the main offender here? It sounds kind of sour throughout the body of the song (I think flat)...not so noticeable at the outro. My guitars are quite old and suffer from intonation problems, but I should be able to do a better job of masking that. Having properly tuned instruments is sort of minimum requirement, so this just isn't going to fly.My voice should not be the focal point of any recording...The lead vocals could be a bit louder
Ouch...the whole thing could be a little bit "tighter", its not quite grooving at this point.
Thats what I don't get. I want it to sound loose, but not groove-less. I'm finding that slower tempo stuff is harder for me to get locked into and less forgiving in terms of timing issues than up-tempo numbers. Maybe I'll increase the tempo just a hair and try again. I really had high hopes for this arrangement...Damn that was cool.Monkey Allen said:The recording is nice. I don't know the original song, so yours sounds good. Kind of a layed back tune.
I listened to your Killing Floor...it's one of my favourite songs ever. Some huge effects on the vocal there!
