This is probaly my favorite of your covers you have done...that says alot as all your stuff kicks ass!!!
Energy is off the hook on this (as it should be for a Iggy/Stooges jam)...drums are fantastic!!!..Does your band play this one live?
Made my Friday afternoon...thanks for sharing your jams here!

Thanks a lot man!

No my band doesn't do any covers. We used to do a bastardized semi-punk version of "Rainbow in the Dark", but it was awful, so we stopped.

Cool...would like to hear a punk version of that Dio tune :D..
Trying to get my band to do a psychedelic version of "Muskrat Love" by Captain and Tennille...in a Syd BArret?Pink Floyd vibe.......there having none of it unfortunately:rolleyes:

The first guitar has an excessive resonance at about 2.5 kHz. I don't know if this is intentianal. Did you try a mix without it?

Which guitar is the "first" guitar? I don't understand what you're saying.

1st & foremost - this is SSO much better than Bowie's mix of The Stooges that I wish you'd mixed them not him.
Excellent taste my man!
Do you have excessive resin at 2.5 kHz in your 1st guitar? If so scrape & smoke!
Top recording of a great song - the b/vox "hey"s might be a little loud. The vox are terrific - lack the desperation at the end of each syllable that is si Iggy - I gess you need to be Iggy to be that strung out & hopped up way back then to get that edge though. Besides this isn't a clonig session is it!
Such a classic set of lyrics - how many have beeb used as titles, catch phrases etc?
Top job, straight up the middle lead guitar is SPOT on!
As Per Usual - YOU !@#*^%$#.

Lol. Dude, what? There's 2 rhythm tracks - L & R - and the lead which is right up the middle. Which one do you mean?
I didn't even notice, thus I think, there really is something wrong with the mix.
Anyways, the resonance is present on both channels throughout the song. It could be the mastering as well and just one or more guitars are most present at 2.5 kHz.

You really should hear this even with any average speakers or headphones. And you can clearly see a strong line in the spectral view. Maybe you just need a break and put that song aside for a while. You'll be surprised when you're listening to it in about two days later.

Thanks a lot man. I think this song is a classic piece of rock history that unfortunately not that many people know about. Thanks for the feedback. :)

Okay man, thanks for the input. I don't really get what you're trying to say, but I appreciate you listening and trying to give feedback.

Huh?

I am listening on headphones and Bose speakers. I don't hear what you are talking about. The mix sounds fine. Maybe your system is having issues.

I like it! Very cool. Does seem to get a bit of shrillness to it in a couple quick places but, I think that's par for the course with that type of guit sound.

My tweeters are killers too:D

Very nice job!

F.S.

i've never heard the original but this sounded pretty cool to me. :) well done :)

The rhythm gits are fine. The lead is hyped in the upper mids because...well, it's a lead.

Greg, nice work on the song, but this thread fucking sucks. Can't you do something about how bad it sucks? It's a fucking disaster.

Thanks bro. I'm not really hearing anything too bad in the guitars, but I do think the vox may be a little bright in some spots. That other one we talked about should be ready pretty soon. ;)
