How do I solve the problem of a dominant B string on my electo acoustic guitar?

I recently bought my Tanglewood jumbo acoustic. It's beautiful to play and sounds lovely and warm unamplified. It has a Fishman saddle pick up fitted and also sounds great when it's plugged in to my Marshall AS 100D or a vocal P.A.

The only niggle I have with it is that the B string is considerably louder than the other five when the guitar is amplified. Is there a way of solving this? If I could, I think I might have just bought the perfect guitar for me.

Is the volume problem both through your amp and the PA?
Probably due to how the saddle pickup is installed inside. You could use a thinner gauge B string (what gauge are you using now?) Or you need to put a multi-band EQ in between the guitar and the amp.

I would get it checked to make sure that you have even pressure on the saddle across the strings. Undersaddle pickups need to be fitted perfectly flush to give an even response as they are pressure sensitive by nature. If that fails you may have a resonance at that frequency. You should be able to detect that unplugged or mic'd. A piezo will magnify the problem. That would be quite rare but I have come across it. Not much you can do to sort that other than add or subtract mass to the part that resonates at 'b..

I would examine option 1 first as it is a pretty common problem.
