You might want to check here for feedback on the DeArmond basses. So far, all the Pilot models have been getting nothing but raves.

Representative post from this morning:

"I bought a Pilot Plus 4 and an M77 last week. They got their try out at last night's band practice.

"The Pilot passed with flying colors. Everyone in the band was amazed at how many great sounds our bass player got out of it. For the $139.99 it has to be the best deal I have ever gotten on an instrument. "

There have been a couple of minor gripes about some examples of the guitars, but the Pilots have all gotten excellent reviews.

did I need the guitar?...no...but it's kinda sweet to have one already set up with alternative tuning sometimes......plus it's a new toy...

tomorrow I'm checking out a strat a guy has for sale down the road...........

I need help........I already have three guitars......and I'm only a pissant rhythm guitarist.....
Dude, I haven't been able to face it up to now, but I gritted my teeth last night and did a quick count: When the DeArmonds arrive, there will be eighteen guitars and three basses here. Only a couple of junkers, too, but a few being ridiculously valuable vintage stuff I got thirty years ago for chump change and put in the closet. Almost every one is a very nice instrument, otherwise I wouldn't have kept them, but TWENTY-ONE axes?

I must be out of my mind. I am definitely out of room.

I'm setting up a dedicated recording and music room in one of the spare bedrooms, and when I start dragging out all these, there's no room to turn around.
anyhow, thanks bongolation, for the tip...........
If you go on some buying frenzy, you'll grow to curse my very name! 8-)

YES!!!

Little did you know it. But your posts have made me the HAPPIEST girl in the world. I ran down to Guitar Center and picked myself up a LOVELY little DeArmond 35 PilotPro and IT IS GREAT! I am not a long-term bass player, or anywhere near as expereinced in the realm of bass as most of the users who have posted here. However. It SOUNDS...GREAT!!! It is EASY to PLAY and it didn't send me to the poor house to buy it.

I have NO IDEA what a humbucker, or active this and that is, or anything else. But i do know that I highly recommend one of these for anyone looking for a fairly inexpensive instrument that will sound good and feel good and look pretty cool. I got the 'natural' finish. It seems to match the interior of a modern loft unit quite nicely.

So. Thanks GUYZ!!! Happy Camper here. :D

Jeeze.

This is only the beginning of my charms and wonderfulness, knowing about bargain basses.

Shame you're all the way back in Chicago or you might be able to talk me into matrimony.

Imagine the bliss!:D
