Ive seen the U87 for 8000 SEK used here in Sweden several times, which would be about 800-850 US dollars, but on the other hand, you dont live in Sweden.

Most important is if YOU are happy with the deal, and you should be, cuz it's a good mic.

No, it's a great mic.

There are things worth no sex even at my age. I'm 18. It just takes a higher mindstate.
 
Well I am looking at it this way, I am a lot safer not having sex. But you are also a lot safer driving the "suggested" speed limits. But then again I can't drive (suspended license for speeding that I could get back if I would just pay the money - but I buy microphones instead) , so I am REALLY safe. I am in college too so I can't even be called up on the draft.

It is cool being the safest guy ever! :( The only thing I'll have to worry about is the risk of electric shock related to buying vintage gear, or alcohol poisoning from drinking TOO much at a gig.

Or I could die of infected sores of pleasuring MYSELF too much! OUCH!

*On a more serious note* Has anyone seen those U87 tube mods from InnertubeAudio.com? They look sweet as hell. They also make a mod for an AKG 414. Unfortanely thier site is being updated for now, so I haven't been able to find a cost. They are suposed to be amazing though. And they are non-destructive and easily reversible. I am never getting laid!
