help me with a pop problem

...IRQ sharing isn't likely to cause your pops...here are a few things to check on--"nothing" running in the background--no virus-scan, etc...
get the most recent drivers for your video-card...PCI video-cards can really eat up your resources, but manufacturers usually have updated drivers available that aren't such RAM-hogs...
right-clk on My Computer, select Properties, select Performance, select Graphics, then reduce "Hardware Acceleration"...
you don't have disk-compression software running?--i.e. "Drivespace"...
in Cubase clk Options, then Audio Setup, then System, then adjust Disk Block Buffer Size--try 64kHz to start...

I've done all that but still it pops.

I've spoken to more people about the AMD thing and they seem to have experienced the same problem until they changed to an Athlon.
