thanks Rami

like your marketing there...

i'm tempted to find out who killed Kennedy but I already know.

i love 8mm so i created a film clip with some of the Zapruder film it was cool i ultimately wrecked the song though :(

I’d say over production was the crime here.

sorry about jacking this guys thread. Joel you got any questions?
I’m not jacking it anyhow because i already said I’d help time permitting as you can see i have some now

woooh RAMI

funky tune Rami.

you may not understand as i said have been confused about the issue and you may think i'm crazy (obviously) but i believe an alien satellite is in contact with me Philip K dick style.

hey i really like Drowning in Denial.

dude your in the USA, i'm telling you our civilisation has some big changes coming.

i like that Fuzz sound you have there.

I’ll ultimately probably be hunted down and killed. Like in the book.

"i don't like what i see when i look inside of me..........." Rami

don't be like that.:)

you're very consistent, the album there. i like it.

No! My thread has become a flamewar!!! *lobs various flame grenades into masses*

ASD;LKFJQWSD90FU1%^$r*&^yu*o**(^$%$w@$#we^%t&yu*iop

:D:D:D

almost EVERY thread on here turns into a flame war. This place is filled with negative idiots who waste their time insulting other people's work instead of making it a community.

thanks for the feedback guys!:)

wow that's strange i understand every word ha ha .... actually no i don't..

yeah it runs the risk of getting boring. but everyone (except you guys of course) seems to like it. hey I’m with you I’m not that into it either.

Do this test show it to your sister or mother.

strange that maybe the Casio sound is in now but thanks for the feedback:)

Now if you hated that you will LOVE this ha ha i just can't wait to get some feedback about this song.

it's called IIwitcht:

I still don't know what it's all about i have some theories but i can't put it to a single thing as i said i don't know how to play the songs I wrote so would have to re-learn them the lyrics i make up after the fact.

this the second song i ever wrote.

The guitar is in B I don’t know what a “Key” is I’m sorry people keep saying “what Key is it in?” I don’t know the one that opened my guitar case that day! That’s a lie I don’t even lock it.

I’m not pissing in your pocket I know a key is something to do with where it is played on the guitar but I never bothered to learn what they are.

But the top string (low string) is tuned to B. then the rest of the guitar to that.

It’s a magical song I hope you like it …..welll….ha ha

It’s only 5 MB so you can download it if you like.

Funny, I got that too a bit. I get praised all the time from all types of people for my "sound". People on here mostly just ripped into it because I chose not for the particular project I posted to use an "ultra realistic" guitar tone. What I used worked well for the project... hell sometimes I didn't even use even a guitar amp plugin... like running it through a few bit crushers, vintage warmer, some waveshapers, etc...

I wouldn't worry about it too much, most people on here couldn't write a song if their life depended on it, and will go to any length to insult everyone else because it's not the same brand of 70s audio engineer greasy mullet rock that so many audio folks are obsessed with.

If it works, it works!

Noone's going to say Walsh's tone on " In the City" is anything but transistorized calamity, but it WORKS!

funny thing is i really don't listen to modern music, like much at all i don't watch TV like l mean i don't own a TV at all, so when someone said the word EMO to me I asked them to explain what it was.

Want to see the hilarious results of that conversation?

they said "EMotional ROck" and i said

"is that to imply that all other Rock has no emotion?" (I pictured a buddy holly film clip)(joke)

I’ve since figured out (by the way I’m an economic genius not because of my intellect though)

EMO is just re-badged marketed version of what we used to call a "Goth" I instantly had an Alien satellite beamed vision into my head of a SONY BMG guy in a suit hanging out with his friend: it went like this:

He was a Marketing man he says: "oh yeah" (laughs) "by the way ever heard of EMO?"

Friend: "yeah we have all heard of EMO"

Marketing man: (laughs) "Well, I made it!"

Friend "what do you mean?"

Marketing Man : "the whole thing. I thought it up.. The clothes, the music idea (which is just punk kinda)"

Friend "really!"

Sony BMG Marketing Man ; "yeah i got a fuckin great bonus for that one!"

(Both laugh)

Emo originally came from a form of music called 'emotional hardcore'. It was hardcore punk, with an emotional tint to it. Rather than the usual hardcore punk, which was far more on the agressive side. It was energetic but emotionally meaningful (soundwise) at the same time. I remember Emo before it's current incarnation. It was pretty good. A Sony BMG marketing man certainly did not invent it. It evolved from the New York hardcore scene. The notion that a guy invented a clothing style for a bunch of hardcore punks, is of course laughable.

Emo evolved. It becaome something very different entirely. The fact that some of the hardcore bands like AFI changed musically somewhat exacerbated this. Troubled (as most of them are) teenage kids latched onto it, and borrowed from some of the goth image along with it because they liked to dress in black and wear makeup. The emo side of things nowadays comes from the whiney pussyness of the music of late, and the inevitable latching on of whiney pussies to it. In fact, emo music these days seem to be far more about the lyrics than the music.

The image cmes from people deciding to dress a certain way. It starts with a few bands doing it, the rest follow. It's not something that is invented. Clothing companies however, will naturally see that there is a certain trend, and in order to make money, will make clothing to fit that trend.

Emo today is nothing like emo when it started. And forthe record, I fucking hate it :p

What the hell does that story have to do with anything anyway?

Nor could we receive signals from an alien satellite if our lives depended on it... :D
Same difference I guess.

i'm still new here..

but i've never seen you (and somehow i doubt that) come on here claiming to be one of the best songwriters in the world.. People like that need a dose of reality.. so their mom and girlfriend might think they're incredible, the harshness of some is not always a bad thing. A healthy dose of humility can do wonders on such an inflated ego. Some take it too far and i'm sure there are those who just want to rip into everything..

if i heard something on here that i really liked (it has happened a couple times so far) i'll praise it.. but music is subjective anyway..

I would imagine that most come on here and post songs to get a critic on the recording quality to help them better it. it is a recording forum after all.

I promise guys, I'll have tracks soon... So what should I be staging at when recording each track? I've been apparently recording WAY too hot, trying to get as close to -6-4db as possible. I'm hearing -16db is what I should be at? Am I correct? I want good sounds, and with my (soon-to-be) modified NADY RSM-4 ribbon mic (upgraded transformer/ribbon/etc.), I want a smexy guitar sound. Suggestions are definately welcomed. I'm also thinking of changing the way I mic my kit. I have 2 sm81's as OH's, with a 57 on the snare, and 52 on the kick. I'm thinking of using mid-side recording with the figure 8 pickup of the rsm-4 with one sm81 pointing down center to patch it up. Then I'm thinking of micing the kit about 2 ft in front with the other sm81 pointing down at the tom area, to give a little more spice to the toms (I'll mix to taste in the project). I'm thinking of also using my ST55 condenser to pick up room sound (to see if it will beef anything up) about 10ft back about 3-4ft up (general location obviously). Any problems with phase from that setup? Thanks again dudes!

Thanx for the compliment on my tunes. But, this thread has really strayed, and I'm guilty of being part of that.

Just to correct something. I'm not in the U.S. I'm in Canada. But I agree about big changes coming to the U.S....the world, actually. It's all about the FreeMasons, Illuminatti, and world domination. It's already begun...actually, it started hundreds of years ago.

As far as thinking you're crazy, well we're all crazy, just different degrees. I have no problem with crazy people, they're usually more fun.

The problem is, when you enter a thread with "I'm one of the best song-writers in the world", you're setting yourself up for ridicule. Just chill out, learn some humility, and people might listen to your music with an open mind, as opposed to looking for any sign that would show you as being "one of the greatest song writers in the world" and then obviously not hearing it.

Yeah, that really sounds like someone who is interested in "community". Seems to me, you're a little bitter because everyone didn't tell you they loved your work or something. I don't know, because I never heard your music, it might be great. But you sound a little bitter.

And to say "most people on here couldn't write a song if their life depended on it"...in the same post that you're complaining that all people want to do around here is insult each other (which is totally un-true) is kinda ironic, no???

emo these days seems to be more about the image than either of those

you would have to buy a double wide trailor to do that!!! It's totally possible... oh yeah you have to own a shotgun and at least one pair of overalls.

naw...I think it's hillarious that there are folks who are so stuck in their own little "box" of thinking that they can't comprehend why someone would choose to make something fake sounding over a real sound or what not. btw... I do actually have experience and success recording amps as well... it works wonderfully for many projects, but it wasn't quite right for this one. I'm not really bitter about people on here. I do get a lot of positive feedback (WAAAAAY more than I thought I would), but I just find it funny that the folks on an audio forum will tell me such a polar opposite to people who are actually doing shit. I generally get pissed off from a lot of audio folks, so sure it can make me a little bitter as to the closed mindedness and the tendancy to rely only on convention, rather than explore new ground. But naw, I don't really feel anything about this particular place on the internet, it's more amusing than anything.

(remember...a "heated" rebuke can be sometimes a product of having a lot of fun... hehehe I had a few shows that ended that way, but I wasn't really even angry, just having a good time.)

It's not really ironic at all. It's the truth. Most of the people (anywhere, not just on here) that cut other songwriters and artists down, often are the most shitty ones themselves.

Gotta love those who spend all their time bitching about people who spend all their time bitching.

Gotta love those who spend all their time on a forum complaining about people who spend to much time on the forum.

Gotta love those who think that thinking inside a box is evil unless it's their own box.

Gotta love those who pretend to individuality or even anarchy, but are actually threatened by diversity or disagreement.

Gotta love those who shut themselves inside their houses and plop down in front of a machine, and expect to find "community".

Gotta love those who will express their opinion next that I am out of line for expressing my opinion here.

:)
