Hey everyone...guitar center had a "list" sale starting today. Anyone else feeling good about steals they got? show it off.

I'll start.

I got a lexicon core2 recording card (4 ins 8 outs analog+ lightpipe and spidif i/o) for $19.99 and the lexicon reverb/effects daughter boards to go with it were 99 cents each. (list $149 each) My studio uses digi 001 but i'm putting this in a little computer to leave in our rehearsal studio to record new material.

are they having sales on everything? Im interested in picking up some boom stands and an SM57

Today I got 2 AKG UHF wireless systems WSM80 (WS2000 in GC's stock) for $50 a piece. They were missing parts and one transmitter was not working. AKG is already sending me a new transmitter and GC ordered all the missing parts their cost. These go for $400 each (list at over $700), I'll get them in fully working condition so I'm quite pleased. Did I need them, no. I'm happy with my current system with 3 transmitters for different guitars, but for $50 I'll upgrade a little.

Also I got 2 $40 keyboard stands for $1.99 each.

This was by far the best I've done at these events.

i wouldn't say they are having sales on everything. I mean they are probably more willing to deal now then regularly, but the best deals are on old stuff, discontinued stuff, floor models etc. I was looking for mic stands, pretty much standard prices. Same thing with mics they'll always be able to sell.

Nice find on the wireless systems. I looked but couldn't find any. My friend got a brand new mesa nomad 100 watt head for around $400 (i think they go for way over a grand)

I almost picked up a 4x12 Marshall Cabinet old style with Celestion 30's for $400. That was a good price, not a steal though.

Like you said, the best deals were mostly old inventory and from some over-stocking.

Picked up a Boss Dr. Groove DR202 Rhythm Box which normally cost $399 for $55 (slightly used but works perfectly). Included manual but no power supply (picked this up for $20). Total deal was $75 .

The guy next to me picked up 10 CD-R disks for 1 penny.

This was actually the best sale I have ever seen them have.

and of course this is the mid week in my life of bi-weekly paychecks......

You should consider applying for a credit card someday. They are very useful in the event you might ever need to rent a car, get airline tickets, or make hotel reservations, to say nothing of the extra protection you get when making a purchase.

I'm not so sure that I would recommend a credit card to the gear hungry. :D It's a quick and easy path down a road that can often end in harassing creditor calls, then the credit agencies, followed by the bill consolidators and ultimately the bankruptcy lawyers. :D :D :D

Well credit cards are very usefull, but you got to be carefull, i have 2 visa's and the GC card , so i get very tempted, but im all set with the creditor calls, bill statements i cant pay off in one month and the thought of being in debt. Got to play it safe now a days.

My best deals at GC include, in no particular order- AKG C2000B- $99 Oktava MK319- $99 B.L.U.E Kiwi quad cables- $19 each x4, AKG D690- $32. That was a winner!-Richie
