"Greasing" the strings???

Technique. Every noise the guitar makes is a result of something you do. All too often people blame the equipment.

Before shifting, lift your fingers no more than an inch from the strings. Young guitarists always make the mistake of thinking you have to shift in a rapid motion. In reality it pays to be smooth and precise, not jerky. Practice very slowly: Lift, shift smoothly and accurately (don't overshoot your target) then lay your fingers down. While or before you lift your fingers, train your eyes on your target fret. Classical guitarists deal with this same issue.

good call bloodyburgandy you're a vampire's dream come true :D

technique is the first place to start although, the margin for error is reduced when your finger tips are dry-n-scabby. when they get really bad, after i get out of the shower and the hands are still soft, I have taken an emery board (aka lady's finger nail file) and sorta buff the finger tips...helps to take some of the dead skin off and makes them smooth...right after, put a good lotion on.

I use 10 gauge electric strings on my acoustic, they sound great and the G strings isn't wound so is easier to bend and makes less noise.

Try that and plenty of fast fret...Before and after playing :D

get new strings for em...i only lube my guitars when I need to (which is every day)

I'm one of those MADLY-ACIDIC-Hand people..

I change my strings once every week and a half...because my acidic hands are just so extreme...the Finger Ease lube will only make it "lubey" for a short period of time before it rusts and breaks of my stupid floyd rose :(
