I just got my V-amp in the mail today. ($91.00 off of ebay ) , and I have gotta say. I was PLEASANTLY surprised. I havent tinkered with the settings or anything. Just fulled around with whatever presets it had stored in it to make sure it was functioning. Great sounds. Anyone who hates behringer should take one of these for a test run. I agree that the interface could be improved, but for this price its a GREAT product.

I figured that there is PLENTY of berry bashing, so how about a good ole' pat on the back. :)

One of the most offensive-sounding door stops I've ever had the experience of messing with.

In fact, that might even be an insult to doorstops.

.

chessrock....what would you say is a better "doorstop" in that price range?

Alesis 3630? BBE Sonic Maximizer? Lots of options, really. ;)

I was unaware that aural exciters and compressors produced effects such as reverb, distortion, delay, oh wait, thats cause they DONT. Besides, I think you will hear FAR more negatives about that BBE sonic maximizer than you will about the V-amp:) but I appreciate a friendly spat. ;)

I was referring merely to their doorstop properties, dipshit. ;)

One of the reasons some may bash berhinger is there history of patent infringement and reverse engineering. I know that some might also complain about build quality and product reliability, but I think most have problems with how rapidly and blantantly they rip off quality audio companies like Line6 and Mackie.

Those are some good reasons to not like Behringer. Generally though, their gear just sounds bad. That is my biggest gripe with them. I don't care if it is cheap. I just do not like buying things that sound bad. The v-amp squarely falls into that same category.

Congrats on your purchase. It is nice that you are pleased with it. (Now the rest of the class can start dumping cold water on him again.)

I'll be looking for you rant thread stating how it died on you after two weeks.

To the original poster of this thread: Don't sweat it. These guys act like this ISN'T homerecording.com.

If you don't have an SSL board and Drawmer or Urei compressors this is the treatment you can expect. Lord forbid someone bring up some home recording type gear!

everybody always pulls out the DMB card. The fact of the matter is that their is an immense amount of talent in that band, REGARDLESS of whether you like them or their music. And if you try to argue that fact you will look like a complete idiot. Although I am sure you are good at what you do MADAUDIO, I am pretty sure that Steve Lillywhite would make you his bitch. :D

As for the V-amp, everyone has their opinion. Personally I havent ever used Line6 other than their toneport ( which was a hunk of sh*t, talk about a doorstop ) Also, the behringer blows away anything in its price range as far as capabilities. Everyone always brings up line6. its not in the same price range, unless you consider the toneport, in which case, refer to my previous statement. noone has yet to name one thing that compares in the $175 or lower range. besides, it will more than serve its purpose for recording.

Also keep in mind, that sometimes the reason things sound bad isnt because of the equipment. Even the best equipment can't polish a turd. If your playing, and/or songs suck, its sometimes easier to blame it on behringer. it makes it sting a little less that way.

I usually find that polished turds always sound better with better gear! They don't smell better, but they do sound better. Personally I have bought tons of cheap f/x gear, only to replace it with the real deal, either a real room for reverb(god forbid it should be real) or a better unit due to dissapointment. I don't own a single piece of berry gear, because when a/b'd against others, it's always worth it to wait for more cash and better gear.

yeah, but not all of us can afford a nice seperate room just for reverb.

second, no matter what you buy, there is going to be something more expensive and better quality.

I guess everyone on this board just one day had an epiphany that they were going to be the next quincy jones, and ran right out and dropped 100k on recording equipment and then went and built a studio.

all the crap talking and STILL noone has named a better piece of equipment in this pricerange. what a bunch of berry hating chumps. :D

Its homerecording.com not
