So JAZZ, you've received the opinions, and gotten great feedback on your song

Now what are you gonna do about it??????

I want a CD myself. Of course I want the 'Anal Drum Song' to be on it too.
Hold the Shartisms please!!

I hope you seek out exposer of all kinds to promote this tune, and your gifted abilities. Tim had a great suggestion, that would get you some exposer. Not just from other musicians with connections, but once you step into that studio, your being heard by other important people with connections.

Have you thought of burning CDs and placing them in your local music store?
I just am getting excited for you!!!

GO FOR IT JAZZ!!!!

I am going to do the only thing I can do... work harder to make myself a better musician!

One day I will feel that I am ready to make a splash... that day is coming soon... my goal is to have 6 complete songs then seek a record deal... god help me... :D

Writing songs is hard these days! You always feel the need to outdo yourself from one song to the next, so you end up pressuring yourself towards perfection, which is why some days I piss myself off and have to stop thinking about it and will have to come back to it on another day.

Anyways, thanks for the help everyone!

I think that's the smartest approach one can have to being a musician (whatever “being a musician” really means) regardless of a person’s individual musical career objectives or opportunities.

Thats what I think too. Getting better only comes with time and hard work during that time.

Just don't loose your edge of gifted creativity, getting caught up in the do's and don'ts, the right way/wrong way.

Your heartway is the right way. What is the joy, if you are famous or rich, and have no heart of accomplishment? Money and Fame only go so far on the satisfaction scale.
If you wait til YOU think you are good enough, and do not hear the sound of destiny, you just may miss your ride. And the Bus rarely comes your route again. It is a unending road of talents, with many whom are willing to jump on. I think your time is now. You are oozing with edge, talent, and hunger. Just always keep the wisdom within you, to not let your gift be destroyed by those lies of what a musician must do to be considered one. (Hard drugs, booze, etc) Okay JAZZ, now that you're getting 'the talk', fell free to kick my arse!!! I can't help myself, it is the mommy in me. :D

You can definitely get better with practice and the time spent on honing your skills. I should have spent many more hrs on that myself. And the extra knowledge IS icing on the cake, or cool whip on your pie. Whichever you like best, maybe it is mustard on a hotdog! In your case, Shartisms on a geetar ???!!!!! :D

But the hunger and unfulfilment ARE the driving force behind an Artist. (I am sure you know these things already).
Show me a satisfied Artist, and I'll show you one that has lost their edge.

I awake each morning
Hungry for that edge
Instilled starvation
Soul anticipation
Heart of colaboration
With my song-filled head. :D

TRUE.....JULY 2005....

After this is posted, I am sure I will wonder why I wrote this....Oh well, I do that quite often. If I offend you, I'll post an apology thread in the CAVE. :D

thanks for the comment true.
I just want to do well enough to get a good record deal, record some excellent tunes, and tour my ass off until I get enough money to do it the next time... that is my hunger... to write and perform for people..

Is that so much to ask?

With enough time and practice, I think it is possible. Exposure is a biatch tho.

Thanks for the bump, True.

And thanks for the compliment, Willz

Couldn't help myself....I had to bump this one more time.
My name is TRUE, and I am a musical junkie..... :D

As far as being flat in the 2nd verse, yea maybe but it actually adds to the human quality of the song. I think fixing it would take away from the emotion. I like the slight dissonance in your voice at times, expresses the emotional distress of the speaker. Just my interpretation. The ending.. I dont know.. I can go either way, for the same reasons its good, but its lacking something, I dont know what.... anyway... great song. Its pro quality for sure.
