WhiteStrat
Don't stare at the eye.
This was a product of a group buy here a few years ago. This is a "Neve clone." I use quotes because I'm not enough of a sound nerd to know what a Neve pre sounds like--but that's how it was regularly described. Also, this circuit went on to become the GAP 73 which I believe is also described as a Neve clone.
These pre's have mic/line inputs--tons of headroom (my SM7b requires less than half!), and a bypassable 3 band parametric eq.
If you know anything about this group buy, you know that these preamps were not without their issues. Some had a general "power" hum issue. Others had a buzz when the EQ section was engaged. These two have no such issues.
But wait! if they're so good, WhiteStrat, why are you selling them???
That's just it--I'm really not. I recently bought a very slick 32-channel board with great preamps, and I have completely rewired my studio with that board as the focal point. As such I've got tons of outboard pres that I'm letting go of. Of all of my (admittedly mid-quality) outboard pres (Symetrix 202, 528, DMPs, ART Pro, TC Helicon, etc.), I'm only keeping 2.
That's right. I'm keeping 2 of these ACMP-73s. I bought 4 in the group buy and I love 'em all. They were originally dedicated to acoustic guitar (left and right), and two vocal mics (SM7b and AKG 414).
My point is this--I'm not getting rid of them because of any "issue." I'm letting them go because I have too many for my new downsized setup. And in fact I'm keeping two of them because they're that good. In fact, these 2 exact preamps were used to record all the tracks found in this thread:

Feel free to skip to the bottom and check out the finished product. These preamps do the job:
The last price I saw for one of these group buy ACMP-73s was $285. The GAP 73 (without EQ!) goes for $349. I know you may feel a risk buying a group buy product without a manufacturer to stand behind it--but isn't that what you'd get buying used anyway? Because of that risk, I'm selling these two for $300. That's for both--they're really sweet preamps, and I think they'll serve someone well as a stereo pair, so yeah, I'd like to sell them together. That's $300 for the pair--you pay shipping, and i'll get 'em right out to you.
