seems only the usual attractions stir this pool of stool.

generally others spend a lot of time or have done listening and offering advice on people mixes..even then expect around 10% comments to listens..its not a one stop shop for the next big thing in electronica

pool of stool indeed

Another fruity loops concoction. I revived an old idea, and sampled an improvised guitar track I had recorded in some obscurity . Slice'n'chopped it. Give me a word if you can.

I thought the kick could use more dynamics than just a thud..maybe stick a reverb on it with quite a high gain or up the EQ in the 50hz range

but the mix sounded good...i like the reverse "whoosh" and the panning..could do with some sub under it at times imo

I think you'll find it pretty difficult to accumulate too many comments on this here...if its cut up loops your using then less emphasis is going to be place on traditional problems in recording ie compression, tone, etc which will mean less comments in the long run..

Thanks for the comment(s), I wouldn't expect more than a general opinion of sound and preference. The mixing comment is on point, as I do think the kick is a too flat sounding upon many listens.

Then why didn't you comment on the dude's work and break the spell?

didn't feel the need... i know him personally. but yeah, you know it's not that i meant to offend you... i mean, i didn't come here for a week and a half and now i'm back and more happened when i was gone then happened the couple weeks before when i joined. my mistake, just trying to get some resposes for my friend that he hasn't heard.

oh i understand but i was trying to stir it up a little differently. sorry, didn't mean to say no one here was busy.

The bass drum sounds like a tamba or whatever the name is for the indian drum. IF the acoustic had been more effected you could have had a bit of Shankar revisited a la Cornershop.
Just a word to the wise: your mate did you no favours & himself even fewer.
Newcomers don't get an automatic listen unless there's not much happening OR they've introduced themselves by listening & commenting on the work of others. It's a "commun"ity.

Not my brand of music for sure but, the timing seems forced.....maybe the delay on everything gives it that feel.

This was too ralaxing for my tastes albeit well done. I am almost asleep now.

Danke,

it may sound forced because it is. I took a freely improvised guitar recording (most likely an assault on your senses) and forced a melody out of it. On top of which I hadn't necessarily reinvented myself or my signatures, merely polished to a level above my usual.

On point of responses, thank you for contributing opinions and I will give my time to do some listening.

good attitude mate...and a good way to learn is to listen to the other mixes here, thats how ive done it so far

Lofty comparisons, thank you for the listen.

Kraftwerk and King Krimson all have high compositional standards to my ears, Laurie Anderson is unknown to me...it's definately hard to avoid a Kraftwerk influence in the vein of electronic composition.

kraftwerk were amazing..I still listen to radioactivity nowadays...I cant believe when it was made sometimes...the beatles of the electronic world

it's a sense of 'freshness', things get labelled timeless and in my mind all great music is timeless. The elements of great music seemingly float in freespace/time but associate and bind together in an inseperable fashion. It's a lie to say that even the greats made great music all the time, but to compose a "timeless" moment is the monumental achievement in music...in my opinion I should say.
