Vintage King has some old vintage Audix 35101 preamps with the high end 3 band parametric EQ, racked, with power supply for $595. They have 30 of them in stock. If you are thinking about spending $600 on an HHB or something, look here 1st. Considering you get the preamp AND EQ for $600, it should be well worth it. Brent Averill sells them for $980 with power supply, I beleive.
Heres the quote that comes with it:
"discrete Eq/pre. Same identical eq/filter points as 3 band Neve 33114. St. Ives transformers. Suprizingly good tone sounding and a bargain. Great for Pro Tools front end. Service. Mounted in a self enclosed chassic rack with internal PSU and xlr's on rear panel, not a mere face plate with annoying pigtail harness! When you get tired of the boring new bargain boxes you see in every Mix advert these days, try these out and get some color into your life."
Nuff said. :)

I'm having an old Urei 1108 mic preamp racked right now! I'm thinking abount getting from Vintageking a V72 or a V76/80. The V72's are the ones used at Abbey Road...Beatles. About $625.00 each...then ya gatta get um racked!

How come I can't find a pic of the racked unit? And I can never find prices for theis vintage stuff? I like Vintage King as a company, but their web-site is a pain to navagate!

Email them and ask for the pricing .doc
Some stuff has very nice pricing. Some pieces are around $400,000 though :)

Oh that's gotta be sweet! I absolutely love the vocals on Abbey Road. Probably my favorite vocals on anything. I know most of that has to do with great singers(namely McCartney), great mics, and the unsurpassed talent of George Martin, but still! Abbey Road style pres for 625(plus rackmount conversion so you can use it), seems like a great deal to me...

Then again what do I know.
