FD-8 drifting out of Sync from Cubase

I've got a Fostex FD-8 digital recorder that drifts out of timing from Cubase.

The song is in time for the 2min. then it starts drifting.
By the end of the song the cubase is 1/2 sec out of time from the FD-8.

Both devices are configured to use MMC.
Both devices are connected only by 2 midi cables.
ie. FD-8 ===> PC and PC ===> FD-8

Has anyone got any sugestions?

check the frame rate

Check the frame rate on Cubase, click SYNC twice, along with
MTC, MMC, and all that you should see, 30fps, 30, etc...
select 30fps

in the fostex I think it says 24,25, ----30df (drop frame)
30nd (non-drop frame) -- THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT


It's different somewhat, but you may want to try that, if it doesnt work try 30df in the fostex.
