drum machine nightmare

i have a boss dr-202 groove box.....nice...like it a lot.
i am trying to get this little baby to record onto a yamaha md4s. the only problem is that the little bastard creates enough HISS to obscure the sound of a concorde taking off when i try to record it!
i knew it was a HISSY little fella before i got it but it really takes the piss.
anyone got any idea on how to reduce it?

Try a Low pass filter or a noise gate,

Yeah,what Shailit said! I too own the DR202 and I used to get a lotta hiss. I plug the box directly into the board and CUT the trim and hi-end eq.Control the volume on the machine as the louder the setting on the machine the more noise you will encounter. Also you can control the
signal to noise by adjusting the attack and decay on the 202 and gating the final signal.
