WTF is a "three pipe problem?"

Rag on me all you want, but everyone was talking about those pics as if they were of the same setup.

Jesus Christ, either this is a sense of humour fail or a general reading fail. It's the English, literate version of "No Shit Sherlock?". Just because teh interwebz is the sole source of your reading matter, it doesn't mean that I have to dumb down the stuff that I post! Do some reading Motherfucker! And start with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. :D

stevieb, something like this?

LOL I just did a live sound support of a KISS tribute band that did exactly this. :laughings:

Young kids thought that it was cool.

I'm gonna choose to believe you are exercising your sense of humor (learn to spell!;)) for a moment... okay, moment's over.

Bugger off, a--hole.:D I have been a live-long, voracious reader- and I don't give half a shit for Victorian English literature. Doyle AND Dickens can go hang, for all I care- I hate 'em both. Queen Victoria was a tight-assed prude- she only served one good purpose- that of one being able to shove a lump of coal up her ass and pull out a diamond. In fact, this is what I think of ALL the royals:

Most people who play with small amps snobbish about it. Whether or not you like it, image makes a difference to the way you are perceived as a musician or a band. Whether or not you care about that is obviously your perogative. 4 orange 4x12's on each side of the stage looks better than a 1x12, especially if its a big stage. Having said that, fake cabs are the line for me. If i get to the stage where i can have 4 cabs on stage, i might do it, but i want them all spewing out noise creating a living hell for the sound tech.

Rather than simply more being better, there are style standards. Sure, a 1x12 in a metal band's line up would look out of place, just as 8 Orange 4x12s (4 each side of the stage, according to chamelious) would loo out of place at a bluegrass gig, just to pick two genres.

image doesn't mean anything. the look on peoples faces when they comment on 'that awesome tone' and I point to my ValveJr and SG.

plus, I'm off stage in the amount of time it takes to wrap up a couple cables and close the guitar case. 5 minutes, tops. and no hernia

nobody here is doing gigs that allow for 4-4x12 cabs. Coffehouses and bar gigs is about it.

That's just laughable. The valve jr is a toy amp that sounds like total dog shit. Tone wise they are equal to a gorilla amp with "tube stack" distortion.

probably already mentioned...but I came across Jeff Beck is using the Pro Junior amps, then mic'd....soundman adds some reverb delay and puts it back into a speaker cab on the stage.

I guess it wouldnt be real versatile but probably some great tones on what it does.

Forum: I had a Chat with Jeff Beck yesterday
