Is that because it's the law? If I felt the law that says you can't steal stuff was grossly unfair then I wouldn't have a problem defying it. However I happen to think that particular law is pretty fair, it goes against my own beliefs and values to steal.

I was bought up to believe that if you want something you pay for it, if you can't afford it then you work harder and you save. If you're never going to be able to afford it then you go without.

Steinberh and all these other corporations are designed to rip you off....I dunno how old you are or where you at, but American society is a capitolist soicety......Everybody capitolizes off the next persons efforts..............So it's ok for a company to capitolize off you, get over on you, make you work so hard to afford and partially pay to help you do something you love, which is free..........It's ok to do that, but if they tell you, "It's stealing cause we cant capitolize off of you", then the person who actually steals is wrong?????? Saying that Steinberg is a big corporation designed to fuck everybody over is just a rationalisation for theft (and a poorly considered one at that).

In a capitalist society businesses sell products and services to make money. If you think they charge too much and that they make too much profit then you don't buy their products, their loss.

It's not as if Steinberg has a monoploy and it's not the case that if you can't afford cubase SX then you don't have other options for recording.

Steinberg makes a much cheaper but still very useful programme called Cubase SE. If you can't afford that then there are cheaper packages from other developers like n-track and powertracks etc. If you can't stretch to that then there is even free sequencing/recording software like Kristal and Audacity.

What weakens your argument somewhat is that you think it's Ok to bypass all of the cheaper options and steal the top of the line software. It's not as if there aren't other options if money is tight.

Another thing that weakens your argument is calling everyone who doesn't agree with you a lemming. As I said before I don't steal because I'm morally opposed to it and it just so happens that in this instance the law says the same thing.
