Come Together with more guitars

The guitars are mixed as raw live improv rather than as a planned arrangement, and the listener has the perspective of the guitarist on the right side.
Tim,

That's really cool!

I'm going to try to post a mix tonight with Anfontan's guitars included.

I think a combination of his and your tracks would go together and compliment each other nicely. Is there a chance I could get wave files of your individual guitar tracks? Do I hear a YES? ;)

Thanks for the feedback Phil.

60's, I just PM'd you the link to the wav file for the gtr track. Look out though - it's gonna be a long download. 57 MB.

I like it Tim

It might be more effective if it was edited a bit when the voice is present. It presents a conflict, I want to listen to both and cant. Being a player, my attention goes to the guitar too much. Excellent stuff all around.

Thanks David. Good point about not crowding the vocal. I was playing it for my wife last night and she kept saying, "Turn up the gtr. Turn it up more... more...." Ha! Biased advice there. It does go down a few dB when the vocal's there, but not enough.

60s is going to do a full mix so I'll let him wrestle with the levels. ;)

BTW David, did you listen to the latest version, since it was changed from the first one I put up? 'Cause that first one was even more crowded.

True-eurt, let me know what you think after you hear it.

.

I didnt hear the first. I think it could be a good compromise to have some soloing during a few vocal sections, maybe 50% of what is there now. There would still be plenty of room for it at the end of phrases. As always, quality playing.

uhh, you mean this isn't a work for guitar with vocal accompaniment?  Hahahahaha.

No, I know what you mean. I guess I approach things like this as an abstract gtr improvisation exercise initially, then settle in slowly to the greater needs of an arrangement. Which makes sense in a way since I've spent many more hrs working as a solo guitarist than mixing or playing with a band. ;) Heh-heh.

Heres my first take on it with some guitar fills. Just kind of filling in the holes for the most part-I'm sure I'll be doing some improvements on it soon.
Its on my soundclick as Come Together - 1 :D

Nice work Tony. Very tasteful.

Here's the mix I came up with of Dogman, me :o , Anfontan, and Tim Lawler.

Thanks guys! This has been fun, except that I know my ears are shot and I can't mix for shit!

I recorded an additional bass track and I edited and combined it with Ed's original bass track. Sorry Ed. I hope that's OK.
