There you go trying to feel better about yourself by judging others.

This was my point. As I explained, I do not cost the company developing or distributing the software any money for the simple fact I could never afford to buy it. So I win being able to use something in my free time and the company goes on existing with or without me. I sleep fine at night.

The line between digital theft and physical ownership is a bit gray, but I can see how one might interpret this as theft (especially if they forked over their money to use the software I use for free). Morality is personal/individual, so I'll be my own judge and you be yours.

Oh, and I need to remind folks that laws/legality do not equal morality. Look up the difference between ethic and morals. Ethics are imposed and morals are known. I know I'm not stealing, but ethics attempt to impose a different set of beliefs. The main issue with ethics is they are inherently flawed since laws and regulations are often created by a special interest with selfish goals and not for a greater good. To thine own self be true.

You've spent this entire thread advocating it.

And as far as your 12/6 schedule goes, let's see... that's 72 hours a week. Let's be generous and say that you spend only an average of 6.5 hours a night sleeping. That's another 45.5 hours. Another 4 hours a day for eating, shit/shower/shaving, commuting, etc., adds another 28 hours to your weekly schedule. That adds up to a total of 146.5 hours a week you spend just working, sleeping and eating.

In a total of 168 hours a week, that leaves you only about three hours a day to spend living the rest of your life, including apparently becoming an expert at global politics and business management. Yet you still have time to waste in the "New Rep Point Thread" adding meaningless and useless rep points to your total (you've added another 3000 or so points just between your last post and this one; more than fine people like Tom V. have earned in several years here of actually meaningful and useful posting), and yet you bitch about all the negative rep you get because of the ludicrous posts you make here. And still you have time to, by your own words, sit "in the studio all day" because it's too cloudy out to mow the lawn.

My life is what it is, and it's out in the open. Everybody knows who I am and what my resume looks like. I don't remain anonymous, spend time collecting bullshit rep points, make up a fake life and bullshit about it to strangers on the Internet. Talk about going to bizarre lengths in a need to feel better about one's self. Look in the mirror, son.

Don't drink the flouridated water, Mulder; the Smoking Man could be knocking on your door at any time and you want to be alert.

G.

Please show me one post where I said stealing is not wrong.

Wow, so I spent my one day a week off in my studio because it was rainy and I couldn't spend it mowing the lawn and taking care of my home. Wow, how dare I post about sitting in the studio on my day off on a HOME RECORDING FORUM. How wrong of me. If you spend your time gathering so much info about me....you really do need to get a life. You actually took the time to figure out how much time I spend shitting? And now your following me around on this site to see where else I post? What a loser. No wonder you have to put others down to feel better about yourself. I spend a couple minutes once in awhile on here to get away from work, and the everyday pressure of working for a living, and raising a family, and you come along with personal attacks, and assumptions about me when you know NOTHING about me (other than how much time I spend shitting each week  ). Screw you. Sorry, but you are not as important as you like to think. You are a nobody. Certainly are not better than me.

You have no right to judge anyone, and yet you continue to assume shit about people, and look down on people you know NOTHING about. Shame you see yourself as "Godly", and a good person, but you are the worst kind of person there is. Much worse than a thief. Can't just mind your own business, and let God do the judging. No, you have to become the self appointed "Internet bullshit police" (by your own admittance), and damn the evil doers. Your opinion on this doesn't matter one bit, nor is it going to stop anyone from stealing, so your only reason for this BS is to feel better about yourself. Meanwhile, you're simply a piece of shit that doesn't matter one bit to anyone.

And what "bullshit fake" life? What the hell are you even talking about? Now I'm lying about working? Go to hell, you judgmental ass! What the hell business is it of yours what I do on my one day off? Get a job, and a life.

BTW, I never bitched about neg feedback. I bitched about ANONYMOUS neg feedback. It's cowardly. I have gotten couple neg feedbacks on this thread including one from you, and an anonymous one (from AcidRock). I have gotten several pos rep points from this thread. Again, you assume to much. I've been a member on this site for years. I see very little rep points from the new rep thread. Can't say I know those guys very well. Are you really watching my rep points? You really, really need to get a life.
Have you thought about therapy? You really seem to have some issues. Christ on a cracker, you took the time to figure out how much time I spend shitting!

And really....learn how to spell. Your post are painful to read.

So while you're being true to yourself which hand are you using?

The simple fact is you are sitting there lying to us which is kinda of normal for thieves. The lying and stealing go hand in hand.

The simple fact is you can afford to buy the software as you say you are a professional in the computing field. You are simply too selfish to pay others what is due to them. You find it easier to steal it. That doesn't make you a winner. To the contrary, it makes you a loser.

Simple, simple simple, so simple a blind man could see it.

Oh, stop it already. You are not fooling a single person on this board other than yourself. You've used every excuse in the book as thinly veild justification for bucking the system, all the while feigning innocence by not actually saying verbatim that stealing is OK and pretending that you don't do it yourself. You're trying to parse language like Slick Willie Clinton while winking at your fellow Lone Gunmen slackers.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Nobody is forcing you to read my admittedly bad typos or to take your being outed on this board so damn hard.

I'm not judging or fighting evil, I'm fighting bullshit, and you, bud, are a proven 24/7 360° bullshitter who shouldn't wander too far out of the Dragon Cave if he doesn't want to be used as a floor mop by those who recognize the difference between shit and shinola.

G.

Um...where's the post where I said stealing isn't wrong?

Can't help but to notice that none of that is based on fact, but rather your judgment based on your assumptions. I say I don't steal software, and that all mine is paid for, and you say I am a lair. I say I don't advocate stealing, you say I am a liar. I say I work 12 hour days, and you say I am a liar. I say stealing is wrong, and you say I don't mean it. I tell you my name is Toker, and you say that I'm a liar. Can't imagine how you know all this about me. You judge me (which is why you are here) because I won't throw stones at the evil doers with you. Does this mean that Super antiInternetBSman has saved the day from thieves, and bullshitters?

Music is a matter of perception. How one perceives it says a lot about who they are. That is the true beauty in music. It touches on who we are. It exposes our inner self. Musical ink blots, if you will. That being said...

It's funny you see the Steve Miller song as making fun of a certain type of person from that time. You look down on people like that, hence your quickness to call me a "pothead". Thus, your perception of the view in those lyrics is a reflection of your nature to judge people. I, however, don't see the song from that view. To me, it's more from the mind of the character, not the outsider. The guy is laid back, enjoying life, minding his own, not looking to hurt anyone, and just trying to get laid. It's a certain type of person, captured in an era. A moment in time. It reminds me of people I knew at that time (older than me), that were good people. Bit lazy, and a bit too laid back, maybe, but good people. Certainly not anyone I would ever make jest of.

Although I'm no expert, I had a few behavioral science classes. I couldn't help but notice that you are very angry, and mentioned the word "outed". I'm starting to get the picture now, as you also seem a bit feminine. Lay down on the couch. Now, tell me about your mother.... ;)

The only problem with pirated software i have it that it lets everyone become a "muscian" by accouple clicks. So that means you need very little dedication to your craft to get the tools you need. You don't get that with many other things. So since i've started making music digitally, i've noticed that the quality of music i hear on the net has slipped significantly.

Wow, interesting view. Nice twist. Could be a matter of opinion, though.

Well, i'm comming from the hip hop world. And we all know, it's really not the most complex for of music in the world (although their really are some very talented musicians in this relm). But, yeah, it's actually a rather uninteresting view when you begin to post up on hip hop sites. I don't know, i have my views on pirated software. But the only thing that really gets to me is when somebody is using $1000 plug ins and doesn't know what the word "key" means. I kind of have a feeling that if these same people had to spend their money on software, or if software didn't exist and had to use hardware, they might get into something else.

If you neg rep someone anonymously you're an asshole, but if you steal software anonymously that's okay.

Hah Hah!!!!!!
The funny thing about this thread is the hypocrisy. They get upset about meaningless rep points, but don't think others should get upset about stealing their intellectual property.

Yeah, i mean the justification is kind of BS in my oppinion that you arn't stealing something phyiscal is not stealing. To me, even if you can convince me you arn't technically "stealing" (which i don't buy), you still put responsibility on people like me to go out and buy the software so you can have it. Not everyone can steal software or it obviously would cease to exist quite quickly. I don't care if all these arguments/comparisons about other forms of theft don't end up being accurated. Sure, stealing software is not like stealing a car. But what if somebody stole your music and treated it as their own. You still have the original copy so who cares. So for all those who argue that since it's not stealing something physical so it's fine, you care if i steal your music and treat it like it's mine?

OK, what IS your full name? You know mine. What IS your 72-hr a week job? Where DO you work? You know my answer. What IS your expereince in business administration? You know mine. What IS your experience in software development and sales? You know mine. How many poeple DO you know in the business? You know my answer. What IS your overall expertise on the subject? You know my answer. How long HAVE you been at all this as a profession and not just an anonymous forum member? You know my answer. Just even the playing field and let us know as much about you as you know about me.

If I'm so damn wrong, it should be real easy for you to shoot me down right now, baby. Just tell the entire truth at the same level that I already have. If it's on your side. you have nothing to be afriad of.

And as far as the song, ask Steve Miller, dipshit. You really need to do your homework before you go around throwing up false points. That's right up there with the "Harvard study" that was not only not a Harvard study, but it wasn't even on-topic, and it was self-admittedly wishy-washy about even the topic it was about. False bullshit. Not to mention the supposedly damning quotes from the President of Sony Media which meant absolutely nothing beyond standard common sense business analysis. False bullshit. Your talk about not getting most of your rep points synthetically. False bullshit. Your claiming to know who shot President Kennedy (what the HELL is that even DOING in this conversation?) is not just false bullshit, it's insane.

So with your rejection so far to come clean on the rest, we have nothing to work with but your falsehoods, bullshit, and insanity.

You want to play pop psychologist with me, do you? Glad that's another tpoic you are an expert about just because you took a couple of classes. OK, Carl Jung, did they bother to teach you about "projection" while they were at it? You keep trying to throw the "holier than thou" and "superiority" labels on me, when you are taking a position that your own personal desires supercede the rights of others. Can't get any more superior than that. Me thinks you're just trying to project your own weaknesses upon others in order to prop yourself up. Then add the unhealthy fixation on a useless grading system like rep points, to the point of actually artifically boosting your grade like a kid hacking into the principal's computer, and your extreme anger at being anonymously negatively repped, and we have the entire pallate covered:

First there is your need to appear superior to others with with your grading points, your willingness to attain them without any effort instead of actually earning them; instead ignoring the ethics of the system of your own personal gain - SUPRISE SUPRISE! just like you do with your music and your software! Follow that with your paranoia evident even to the most casual observer when you start using "Big Brother" in the form of business and government as justification for anarchic behavior. Then follow up that package with your anger at someone doing something anonymously on the net when you hide behind a cloak of anonymity yourself. Then finish it off by projecting your insecurities on me by attacking my elderly mother in your own negative rep tantrum. I think you're the one who needs the Librium and couch sessions more than anyone else here.

Anyone can play pop psychologist. And most of us will be wrong when we do. But if you want to play that card, train-in-tunnel-boy, be careful that you get well out of your own glass crazy house before you try throwing stones at someone else.

G.

I believe you were the one that brought up the rep system. I'm not an idiot, and therefore, am not in the practice of giving out personal information to strangers on the Internet, especially to someone that appears as unstable as you. I told you my name, David Roy Toker, but you claim I'm lying, so what's the point? None of the information you ask for has anything to do with whether or not I steal software, which I do not, but once again you call me a liar. I have no idea what your name is, nor do I care. What I do for a living is none of your business. You already say I'm a liar for stating that I work 72 hours a week, so what difference does it make what I tell you? You will simply call me a liar again. As far as business history, I was a sales rep, and then manager at a major video, and audio media distributor called Lieberman Enterprise, which was part of LIVE entertainment, before it was sold to Handleman.

Sorry, I can't ask Steve Miller, I don't know him. My comment on the perception of any song still stands.

Your assessment of me is, once again, judgmental, and based on assumptions, including your assumption, and insistence that I steal software, no matter how many times I state that I do not.

Now, back to you being on the couch. The mention of your Mother seems to have hit a sensitive spot. Is she aware of your sexual preference?

I never said that stealing was ok, only that you are an asshole for not signing the neg rep you left. One has nothing to do with the other.

You guys should exchange numbers, the argument might even be more fun.

What a matter?
Rep points don't cost anything.
They do you no good at all.
You don't pay to produce them.
Don't you have enough rep points already?
You must just be greedy.

Or maybe it's just a badge for you to wear.

If a person gets upset about something being taken away that costs nothing and they did nothing to produce, surely a person who gets something taken away who pays the rent with that something may have a right to be a little pissed?

Oh I forgot,it's a one way street with you guys. It's okay if I fuck with someone, but not if they fuck with me.

There will always be a segment of society that justifies their actions because someone else has more and they think they deserve a share even though they do nothing for it.

As for the arguement that they wouldn't have bought the software anyways...the why are you using it?

Look, Dave, are you gettiing as tired of this shit as I am? Do you really want to be reduced to trading insults of each other's mother?(note that I am witholding from doing that.)

You think I'm an insecure egotist and I think you're a paranoid anarchist. And everybody else here (including me) thinks both of us are idiots for continuing this feud. 'nuff said, isn't it? I think so. This is a waste of both of our times.

The next move is yours. We can finish this up now with open hands or with closed fists. I'm leaving this stupid thread with hand open and extended. It's your call as to whether you want to get the last punch in or not.

um...I paid for my software. Never said I stole any of it. I never justified anybodies actions. I never said it wasn't wrong to steal. If you can produce a post of mine that states differently, then I'll be glad to discuss it with you.

toker, don't even bother arguing with Glen, you have him pegged perfectly, he's a judgmental egotistical asshole, and this crosses over into his disccusions on audio or even music. I've argued with him a few times about stuff that frankly was just stupid for him to argue with.

He's pretty much yet another victim of his generation. The me me me generation. He argues with anything anyone says even when it makes no rational sense. He spends his entire day sitting on this place and judging other people, arguing his (non)points for no apparent reason. Just see him for what he is, the king of his immagionary little shit pile kingdom. He can drive his SUV around and kick homeless people in the teeth. I bet he's a closet racist too... but no he's probably one of those people who are like "hey! not me! I know black people" *50s advertising smile* "I believe in equality, just as long as they don't live in my suburban neighborhood. Let's go play some football fellows."

Anyway, don't worry about him too much, from my experience, I doubt you'd have to deal with someone with such social problems in anything beyond a home recording BBS, at least not for long (they never last that long). People don't like working with oppinionated reationary arguementative jerks, and would rather work with someone less talented then be subjected to that attitude in their working environment. A good attitude gets people much further in life and in their career than skill alone.

It's obvious that he spits out random scripted crap like so many people from his generation. He doesn't read what people actually say, and then spouts off his mouth with his ignorant stereotypes and biases that are straight out of an old government sponsored "documentry" that were all the rage in times of the past. You could say anything to this guy. The sky is blue and he would come back hurling random insults and trying to prove what an idiot you are, and that the sky is indeed green. Just look how yourself AND I work many hours of hard work, and have repeated the same thing over and over and the only thing he can reply with is, get a job you anarchist slacker. His biases and his reliance of stereotypes just really show that he can't think beyond what is dictated to him. It's all the same faceless person, spouting off the same pre-scripted crap regardless of wether is makes sense or not. That way they don't have to concentrate on actually thinking when they're carrying on their daily business, and can concentrate on monetary gain and one upping their neighbors lawn.

And anyway, Glen, I am actually not an anarchist. People are too fucking stupid to be left to their own devices. There is no system of government that actually works. All of them have good points and bad points, but people are just too selfish and evil to handle anything with any sort of efficiency or ethics. I just don't choose to be blind to the power structures of the world. The only real solution is if every human being on earth ceased to exist. Then there would be harmon in the world. Anyway, Glen, your owners thank you. You have done a great job of confusing daft conspiracy theories with actual reality. Anyway, it's no use arguing with you about anything, because there is no hope of rational thought on your part, and you just make yourself look further like a self important SOB, who has a hard time making an arguement other than relying on the stupidest stereotypes that your generation has told you. Are you an alchoholic, or another from of substance abuser? You're lack of reasoning skills, and social problems are pretty typical of long time substance abuse. No doubt there will be some assinine scripted response to what I say, something that sounds like it comes straight out of a sitcom writing session to create the stereotype heavy charactor of "yuppie middle aged neighbor". You anarchist slacker. *canned laughter* get..a job *canned laughter* *ooooooo!* You should have your own laugh track man, at least then it wouldn't piss everyone off and it could serve as some comic relief.

Thank you Terra, for putting me straight. I now understand that neither government nor anarchy are the answer. Oh, wait...

And thank for not stereotyping me and "my generation" the way I supposedly did you. Oh, wait...

And thank you for showing me that a person who claims on their own web page that the world is a doomed and dying piece of shit can tell another one that they are too angry. Oh, wait...

Anyway, you sure schooled me. I now know that even though human beings are too greedy and stupid to govern themselves, that there's a handful of them that still have managed to control the entire planet with impunity for several decades without anybody but you finding out. Oh, wait...

I guess I really learned something from this thread. Thank you, thank you, thank you; I just don't know where an inferior person like me would be without superior people like you to tell me which way is up. Oh, wait...

I feel so much better now. Nothing but grain alcohol and rainwater for me from now on. That's the only way I could hope to acheive the purity of essence that you have shown me is the way. Oh, wait...

And thank you for letting me leave this thread on the concilatory note I sounded without getting sucker-punched on the way out. That's very mature of you. Oh, wait...

G.

Terra, thanks, and you are right (sorry Glen :) ). However, I respect the olive branch. I think we were both just having a little fun. I think peoples "online persona" is usually a part of who a person in, but not the whole. When people are face to face they tend to be a bit more restrained, and respectful, as there is a face on the person you are addressing. It's easy to fly outta the gate with all cannons firing when it's just a monitor you are engaging. It's a release of inhibition. Some seek it out. Not Trolling, but maybe Troll hunting. Could even be viewed a healthy, depending on how serious one takes it. No big deal. It's all good.
