I've just hooked my Audiophile 2496 soundcard and Logic Delta. All seems fine but...

When I play CDs the output throught the anolog outs is distorted. I've tried loering the CD level through Windows' Control Panel but it doen't seem to affect the CD's output level. When I go into M Audio Delta Control panel lowering the analog level doesn't seem to do anything and the meters are showing very hot, they seem to be at peak level most of the time.

Also I can not seem to patch the CD output through the digital outs. Can anyone help please?

Cheers guys

I don't know much about that particular card but it seems to me that I remember hearing that it doesn't have a CD out on it. That's whay a lot of guys run 2 cards in their system (among other reasons.) Maybe they'll hang on to their old SoundBlaster or something like it just for playing back CD's and that sort of thing. In fact, if you still have the card that came from the factory you might try to set it up for playing back CD's. Any cheap computer card can do that.

Thanks for that windowman :). In fact I think I've solved the distortion problem it. I got a soldering iron on the CD connections on my amp and it seems to have cured it. Must have had some dry joints. I can play CDs through the analogs fine now.

However I would like to be able to record onto my VS-880EX from my computer's CD through the 2496's digital outs. So if someone can confirm that it can or can't be done or wheher I'm missing something.
