You have the most severe case of cyber fantasy syndrome I've ever seen.

It's fascinating though... and would even be entertaining if it didn't have the potential to screw up young/new members that buy into your "experienced Pro 2-inch" role-playing.

You're not trying to fool me... we both know that. Unfortunately as you evidently know, you only have to fool some.

For those of us that have been in the recording industry for most of our lives your language and poor grasp of the fundamentals betray you… just as if you were claiming to have been raised in Atlanta, but spoke with a thick Boston accent. Yeah… it’s that obvious. :o

Sure, it is possible that all this means is you’re just no good, and it is true, scraping by with a 2.0/4.0 GPA thanks to merciful professors will indeed get you through an EE program in some places.

The good news it that you are genuinely failing to acknowledge the issue of digital equipment service life because you have no idea what we're talking about. This is slightly better than simply ignoring it to deliberately deceive. I feel better about it. ;)

Nice how you just dodge everything with a severe know-it-all attitude........

You just have to launch personal attacks when all else fails.

Keep up the good work!

I have not failed to address anything. You don't read well. ALL electrolytic caps from the 70-80s dry out. That includes digital equipment. Today's caps have much better chemistry and better engineering as well as being much smaller in size. But you would know that if you did some research.

I use analog when digital sucks for the job. Also I often don't use analog when digital sucks for the job, which means that in such cases I use digital, which sucks, but I use it anyway for various unrelated reasons, i.e. - being lazy, the result is not important etc. I use digital all the time when excellence of analog is not applicable for the task.
Well, that's what I do. Also, the fact that I've made a statement about what I do proves absolutely nothing. All it is - it's a statement about what I do. No more, no less.
********
As for "Loving Analog Machines". I do not love gear. I do like gear, however, any gear that is. Digital, analog - it's all good. I like gear with more things in it, though, and, well, analog gear happen to have more things in it :p ... so? I guess I like analog gear more then. GEAR RULE! Machines are Cool! :D

So let me get this straight, you use digital (even though it sucks) because you are too lazy to use analog?

Interesting

Sorry MCI, but that's much what you did in another thread when I more or less asked if you'd "performed an autopsy" on the new range of JoeMeek gear to back up your comment "The new ones cut corners and use lower quality components."

And on that subject, while, like you I'm fond of my VC1, TF was an unethical twit, a fact which was reflected in the gradual decline of his products and the demise of the company.

Seeing as I provided that very information to you in another thread in response to one of your posts, I think I’ll skip the research… if you don’t mind.

How long do you intend to perpetuate this charade?

How many times will you make it personal and then spin yourself as the victim when people respond in kind?

You really have some nerve accusing anyone of dodging and changing the subject when doing that very thing is the most remarkable characteristic of your conduct here.

How do you define success as far as the number of people you must fool… one maybe? Or is just throwing every thread off subject enough?

If you have any experience at all it’s in music related sales/marketing. One analog forum on the web is one too many, eh? Yeah, that’s what I figured. If you could manage to offer something technically accurate I would really appreciate it. That’s the point of the thread. If you have some bombshell to drop on us analog folks now is the time.

Maybe I just haven’t discovered your love language. It’s all my fault. Here, Let me try again…

Why don’t you make like a tree and get real?

How about this? - dry caps leak, leaky caps dry. That would cover it ;)

I provide plenty. You just keep being a condescending jerk of which many members here are totally sick of.

Attention:

New information has been detected that reveals a diabolical plot to destroy our analog freedom. A message was detected, carefully disguised as background interlude music on a recent episode of Oprah, that when recorded on an original Alesis ADAT and then played in reverse ;) reveals a terrorist plot by the Am-Paexa magnetofascists to simultaneously target the production centers of Quantegy and RMGI. Magnetofascists hate us for who we are, and they hate our analog freedom.

We will not wait for the UN Security Council to consider sanctions nor ask for the blessing of His Holiness, the Bishop of Rome, but will show our strength by fighting the terrorists over there, rather than over here.

Accordingly, OHS/HIT will begin preparations for military actions necessary to overthrow the evil magnetofascist regime and install a friendly, client state. Fortunately, the regime has nationalized their considerable petroleum reserves, and we will further liberate the peoples of that oppressed land by liberating them from the financial burden of those petroleum resources and use the sale proceeds to reimburse the considerable costs of our holy liberation exercise. Several years after occupying their oppressed land, we we begin to consider whether we should engage in diplomatic discussions regarding the future stability of the region, but only after we have demonstrated our great military strength and the resolve of our great people.

hey hey, take it easy, acorec, "master" of two inch and a total re-cap warrior.
To let you know: you are way beyond the point when members of this board are just totally sick of you. Members of this board don't take you seriously for quite some time now. You can say anything you wish - it does not make any difference, really. You may try different user name, but in your case it will not work for long. Apparently your skin is cracking like an old rusty garbage truck and the "content of yours" is spewing rather violently all over the street where ever you pass.
Was it a "personal attack"? I certainly hope so.
here's visual for you, these guys have seen and have smelled sh*t, try them - you can't fool them:

Hey, now you speak for all the members of the board?

Cool, why not, you seem to speak for them in all your posts anyway. You are a true expert in all things analog along with your buddy Beck.

You both are very right on everything.

Since you didn't answer any of my other questions, perhaps I just made it too complicated. This one's really easy:

How many times do you plan to return with a new user ID after being banned from the forum? I mean how long will you feel compelled to disrupt the analog forum. The passage of time doesn’t seem to make a difference. Is that healthy?

YES I do. It has to be done - confronting an unidentified dark ghost of the cyberspace, who's here for the one and only reason - diminishing, insulting and vogue-ishly disrespecting members of home recording community, home recordists individually, home recording in general while spreading misleading and confusing information under the mask of professionalism. It's my duty to speak.

Beck isn't my buddy. I would not mind to have him as a Brother in Arms though - when and if the time will come, that is :D

Just keep going. You know it all. You are the best. Everyone listens to all your incredible wisdom.

analog and digital recording

I hate recording of any kind. Just the idea of recording makes me feel like ass. You spend tons of money on all the stuff, just to hear how shitty you are at music and how bad your voice sounds. Then you spend more money.

I hate digital recordings because they are from the future and i dont like the future. The future is where i am old and cooler better looking young men who play terrible useless music reign and get all the women. Plus, if the sound of the computer or the monitor leaks into my song even at the micro decibel level i will hear it and want to kill myself.

I also hate analog recording as well. The shit is broken half the time, and by broken i mean at any level. Even aged parts will sag performance. Im a musician man, i dont have time to learn how to service equipment just to play a tune. Ill be 90 before im a technician AND a musician. I love old tube equipment and tape machines. But unless you have alot of technical know how or money and time you are using things that arent up to spec. And youll always wonder what it would really sound like if it was brand new and set up perfectly. Cause youll never really know until it is. And then, when you do spend all the money and set it all up perfectly, some digital asshole comes along and tells you all youve got is a bunch of crap!

Sounds like a big rat race to me.

idea

Hey ive got a solution. Lets just never record anything. Lets do it like in the old old old days. Before tv, before radio. If you want to hear a song, just play it. And if you hear a song someone else made that you want to show your friend, just learn it and play it for him. Kinda like folk lore story telling.

Do you think it would catch on?

Come on, give me more red thingies.
