Erland, great song man. I'd really like to know how you got your vocal sound. It's very polished sounding and I'd like to be able to get that sound. As for the mix, I found myself forgetting to critique it and just listening to it instead so there can't be anything too bad. Sounds good......I like it! :)

I had a little slice of free time last night so I added Organ, Drums, & Bass. I'll post it up on nowhere radio as soon as Waldo restarts his MySQL server.

Hey, might be a while, remember when I said in the NWR forums that the UPS was taken out? (About 3 weeks ago)

Well, we just had another huge storm blow through (thunder, lightning, and 2 feet of snow), and it's fucking with power.

In the past 2 hours I've counted 9 outages...

The media server (also contains the mySQL database) takes about 25-35 minutes to reboot.

If anyone want to help out and pay for signup service, I'll use the money to buy a new UPS, but I still have not raised enough for one at this point!

Those sounds sound weird. You know, those weird farting sounds (?). I wonder if they are meant to be there. Are they fret noises or something? I like the vocals, and they fit the song just fine. This song is a decent acoustic song, but those weird noises distract me a lot. The mixing is still good for the other parts, and I like the acoustic guitar sound a lot.

You rock so hard in a non-rockin way that I just can't deny it.:D I love this song. It's smoooooth...

eeeh...
Sorry, drums don't work wrong kick pattern, and everything is just kind of lazy :). i guess I shouldn't realy say anything it was free effort on your part. I liked that you stoped the drums in some parts.

bloody nora

Boys, Aren and Eric. Thats so cool of you. I can`t seem to download properly but will keep trying. I don`t want to listen in Lo fi. Now this is rather exciting. thanks in advance lads. I`ll keep trying.

muzeman - that is fantastic. Thankyou again P.

Lt. Bob - thats fantastic too. I put the mic on a box on my high bed. When I record I turn all the reverb levels off and turn down the volumes so you just here the guitar but low. This way you really here your self, its quite wierd hearing your rusty voice live but that way mistakes can be heard better. Then once I`ve done the melody which sounds really course I add a bit of reverb until my ears like it enough to mix it down to two tracks. If its really dull I try little harmonies until one sounds nice or fits ok. I usually do it twice and put it lower down or to the left or right a wee bit. Erm, thats it. Perhaps that was too simplistic an answer but thats all I do. The mic is a shure 606.

CrankyOne - Those tight bottomed, high pitched farting sounds? I`m sorry but thats just the frets I suppose. I certainly didn`t mean to annoy you. The chords jump about abit and the gutar aint too hot. When you listen to one you keep noticing the, adn I can see why you wouldn`t like it.

Blackburn - :o tip top man

yeah.....kind of an unfortunate kick pattern..

becuase other than that it sounds pretty cool..

nice work.

and of course - nice work on the original Erland ;)

your voice in this one reminds me a lot of John Mayer....different sound than "from a boy to a girl"

Am I still Metal?

Coop,
I am a slave to METAL,but...I found your song very easy to listen to,nice melody, good hook,Reminds me of dave mathews a little(hope that's not an insult).get some drums and bass in there, they'll be time enough for the unplugged version on tour bro.You usin' an acoustic pickup or a mic?You got a nice voice too,my wife would like this song and i do, too.Keep up the good work.I know I just can't let it go....

Didn't have much time so I grabbed the first drum loop in the bag and layed down some tracks and now that you guys mentioned the obvious problems it's bugging the crap out of me.

Erland if you really don't mind, I'm hooked on this song and I'd like to keep working on the remix. If you suddenly feel like you want me to stop excrementing all over your genius just give me the word.

Simply amazing!
Every one is better than the last!

Your music really touches me,thank you.
Yours is a gift my friend.

Best to you,
Pete

well, Coop---another two cool songs. I liked Many Years From Now better. I was a bit put off with the reference to When I'm 64, but then I thought--hey, maybe you've never even listened to that song. Anyway, melodies and vocals are great as usual.

The thing I like the best about your music is that it sounds like it is written and performed for your own enjoyment rather than to fit an established niche. That makes it all the better.

Your really good man. I may have 50 year old ears, but your stuff connects.

Hey all. Forget all about what I said about the 'farting' sounds. It seems that when I listened to the song streamed with Mediaplayer, the song sounded just fine, but with some weird sound clippings and fartings. The song sounded just fine when I downloaded the song and listened to it in Winamp. I wonder if the problem is Mediaplayer, or streaming in general. Sorry if I troubled you :)

What speed of connection are you on, and if you have winamp, why are you streaming with WMP?

erichenryus,

I put some drums on the song, see if you like it. If you like it and want to use it go ahead. Let me know if you need better quality. I can even post a .wav [37mg  ]. You probably more interested to do your own thing. It's fun :) I was up till 3am.

If someone esle wants to colaborate on this it would be great if Erland doesn't mind. It just for fun nothing less nothing more.

Erland,
hope you don't mind. Please let me know and I 'll take this stuff down and quit messing with your songs :D.

cheers

Fed/Erland

the drums and bass really make it strong!!!! Fed, good tracking, but the two drum fills that you used at :50 and 1:40 sounded a bit out of "character" the 1:40 fill "flowed" better to me.

I think a little experiementation would work well. Great mix with Erlands sound not being changed at all. i think less is more in this case.

Strings for the ending choruses?????

Erland you Rock!!
