What speed of connection are you on, and if you have winamp, why are you streaming with WMP?

W.

I have a cable connection. It's just easier, because I don't have to download the mp3, and then add it to the playlist. I'm just lazy.

wes480,
I wish I recorded those, but I can't take the credit they are ... loops. :o

loops eh?

interesting..anything with some room noise always fools me.

that one guys pop song "mind bender" that was in the clinic...sheesh...i don't think I could record a more real sounding set..heh

Well wes480,
The drum loops are proffessionaly recorded. I am sure anyone would be fooled on first hearing. it's the repetition of the patterns that will give them away IMHO. They do sound good though and are fun to play with.
cheers

wow, you`ve been busy!

No I don`t mind you guys playing about. Quite a nice surprise. I am downloading it this minute.....

thats quite something

W.I.S.C.- now thats funny. I`m really touched. I used a mic not a pickup. Thanks evero so much mate.

crawdad - thats a really nice thing to say. I just like doing what I want and theres always so much good stuff to refer too. You don`t like Paul Mcartney. You know I just realised that is the same start. You know I feel I must tell you something about that song....

Aren. I managed to listen. That was funky cheers. It would sound cool blended with the rest. Once again I kept over listening. How did the contest turn out. Did you relax?

Fed. Downloaded here we go..

Cool, well done mate. I like it best when the drum stops and starts. those breaks are cool as! and the end is real nice. I can`t help just listening to the drums though, perhaps a bass would stop me OVER listening and I can`t stand my own voice now! argh.....Hey cheers, speak to you soon. bye

thanks lads, bye

?

erichenryus - did you both do it? I`ll listen to yours now. Man this is great stuff.

Oh right I get it. You`ve added bass and organ, fantastic. My modem is too slow....it will take awhile.

thanks erichenryus. looking farward to this.

Erland, my additions are nothing that I'm proud of. Scratch work but I'd like to get your feedback anyway. Just glad you don't mind us playing around cause it's a solid song and a blast to play along with. I 'just can't let go' of it. I'd like to work on it again with Fed's new drums. Played it for my wife this morning and she was dancing and singing!

I'm new in these parts but already I feel like we'll all miss you here when you become famous.

CrankyOne, you can stream with WinAmp, no need to download... Go read the FAQ on NWR about how to configure your players to play NWR streams...

Windows Media support has only been added for those poor saps who don't have anything better.

I know I can, but then my playlist is gone. I used to stream it with Winamp, but playlist kept disappearing.

Change the default in WinAmp to 'Enqeue as default action' and you won't lose your playlist anymore, it'll just add it to the end of the list.

You can then select it from the end of the list and play it, and remove it from the list if you don't want it there anymore!

Damn, you're smart. I'll try that, thanks! :)

Fed... I wanna know what you use for drum sequencing... those are some of the better drum sounds I've heard on this BBS so far...

let me know, eh...

WATYF

(did I mention I was cheap?) :p

The fills are much better

Fed,

The new fills in the drums are great! I think that the song kicks ass now.

Erland do you play live shows where you are? In my humble opinion I think you should really be trying to get a record deal.

Are you copyrighting your material? If not you really should. Not sure of the laws in Scotland ( I think that that's where your're from, I read that somewhere) but you should definitely look into that stuff.

Keep writing!! Sounds great!

the drums now are a big improvement. They're soooo close, but just a couple little timing things here and there (on a couple fills), that I think a 'real' drummer would cringe on. and...the cymbals a tad loud. A percussion rhythmic thingie to go in the same pattern as the gtr strumming (like a stronger HH, tamborine, for instance) would help set a groove better too, imo....like it is in the beginnng, but gets lost later in the song. But I like the feel of the drums, and nice fills, for sure. At the end, the mallet cymbal sound (and synth molten lava, crackling sound) is kinda lame and out of place though...kinda like getting carried away with having fun adding stuff to this already excellent tune..
The organ is nice also. Personally, I think the 'band' adds to Erlands stuff quite a bit, and propels this stuff up a couple more notches.

realizing, adding to an already mixed vocal/acoustic/finished track is a bit edgy (and difficult)...I suppose.. but's hard to escape that feel, this tune showing it a tad too.

I think the drum track needs to be just as simplified as Erlands own percussion is while beating on the back of his guitar.

The Drum rolls should be simple rolls. These drum fills sound like rock and roll drum fills and this song isnt rock n roll.Maybe some high hat snare work instead of full rolls on the tom toms.(I know, they're loops)

The crashes need to be tamed down also.

I know it's all experimental!!!Just trying to be constructive as to what my music loving ear hears!:D
