Rocket Boy-Hey, you must have dug this up from a few pages back. The mics for the drums were: NTK overhead into the Averill API, AT4033 overhead into JoeMeek VC3, D112 in kick into the other channel on the API, and an sm57 under the low tom into one channel of a Mackie 1202 VLZ mixer. Thanks a lot Rocket Boy!

vic91218-Thanks very much. I was actually thinking about switching from the NTK, but, hmmm, maybe I should keep it. Thanks!

oldboy-Alright, thank you! Would love to have it in a commercial, why not!? Sorry about that piano roll. Thanks for listening!

F_cksia-Hey man, now cut that out! No bowing down until I've actually mixed this one! Seriously, thanks. :)

definately will be looking into some of those averill api's, that just sounds great. hrmm, i wonder what the MK012's would have made the drums sounded like if they were used for overheads, since i have a couple of those.

has anyone tried that through those pres?

since I missed this the first couple times around, I outta say something now!

I like the lack of reverb on this...or your ruffie so far. Gives it that "vintage" flavor. A little *crackle and pop* of the vinyl would only complete it. In you breaks...I like hearing the little artifacts...for some reason. I suppose you...and/or most people will edit that out to complete silence...and then maybe have a reverb tail spill over it...or nothing...but I liked it as is... same with the ending. Skip the polish, screw the gloss, press it up and its' time to floss!!

I sure like to hear something along the lines of "my gtr gently weeps" etc.. some nice Harrison flavor. You do requests, don't you??!;)

great job macle.

Rocket Boy-I don't know how the MK012's would sound through the API, but I'm gonna guess they would sound good! I've never seen anyone not praise them. That's why I got one. It was the cheapest pre with a great reputation, used by pros everywhere, so I figured it should be good enough for me.

mixmkr-Howdy! Hmmm, yeah, I'm always flip flopping in my mind between doing things loose and uncaring and hoping for some kind of "vibe", or trying to polish things up beyond what is even remotely possible. I had started on the polished version, will see how it goes. The good thing about loose and uncaring, is, that means I'm done! Sure, I take requests, if you put a nickel in my tip jar. I do have a song I wrote for Harrison, in fact, but never finished of course. Maybe I'll dig that one out. Thanks alot!
