Hey everyone!

1. What's the biggest mistake you hear in mixes that most beginners don't even notice?
2. Do you mix into a limiter from the beginning?
3. Do you comp vocals heavily or try to comp less?
4. Do you believe the best songs are written quickly, or do they usually require endless rewriting?
5. Do you think musicians create their best work when they're happy or when they're struggling?

If anyone is interested what I think about these:
Balancing instruments and vocal parts, adjusting their volume levels relative to one another, I think It happens often for people who start mixing, back in 2017, it was also my first noticeable issue when I was a beginner. As for putting a limiter on the master bus during the mixing stage, I have been doing it for about a year. I'm not trying to achieve the loudest sound, music not about loudness, but I still make it loud enough so that the volume doesn’t drop too much compared to other people’s music. When I do a vocal comp, I try to keep large segments rather than slicing up the recording so much, I feel like by doing this, I allow the vocals to sound more natural. As for writing songs quickly or slowly, I can say for sure that when a song feels forced, it shows. The more effortlessly it’s written, the more attention it attracts. I've already asked a question about "having fun" while writing music, so, I think it's very important to have fun! And the last question, I feel like musicians' best work is made when they are being truthful, when they are not trying to prove something, when they are being themselves.

I love reading your answers. There's so much experience and perspective here, and it's genuinely interesting to see how you all make music!
